What would your ideal Mother's Day gift be?

Mine would be for dh to get up with the kids and get them breakfast and get them all ready for church. I also want him to take all 4 kids Saturday afternoon so I can go shopping by myself. I also want all the curtains hung up in the house too.

YES! Please take my daughter away and let me have the day to myself. As it is, hubby asked me to watch her all day since he's going over home stuff (for those who don't know, we are buying a house, its currently in escrow). Not that I want to take care of the home stuff but that's not how I was thinking Mother's Day would go!! But I'm hanging out with a friend that day so it should be fun.

I'm making hubby give me a massage though, back and feet!

Well, I haven't gone to church in a few weeks so DH has been taking the kids every sunday without me already ... BUT I would LOVE to have a weekend away with DH and no kids! That would be great!

Anything. Really, anything. I don't think DH has anything planned. Since there's no way for him to really buy me anything I'm not expecting any sort of gift, but it would be nice if he could do some chores or take Vincent and let me go do something by myself or something like that. I'd love it if he would go to church with us too, just this once, but those are his prime sleeping hours.

Sleep in of course.

I also really have my eye on a ring or maybe earrings with E's birthstone (Ruby is July!) I was looking at Kay's today and they have a lot of nice mother's jewelry. I'm not a jewelry person at all, but it would mean a lot.

I've been looking at jewelry also, Liz. I'm sooo scared Marques isn't going to do anything for me, and I'll be the biggest ******* ever. I'm usually not big into holidays, but dang it...it's my first Mother's Day. I'd love a pedicure, brunch, and a day out without the baby. I love Leah, but she's been sooo attached recently. I just need some breathing room.

Oh yeah...I work on Sunday , so Monday will be my Mother's Day. I'll be living vicariously through you all's Mother's Day stories all day Sunday.

Dang it...they bleep out bey-otch.

My ideal day is just a day spent with Sean and Sophie. I know he has reservations for somewhere and was gone for like 3 hours today "running errands" (lol) so I am really excited to see what he has planned. Last year he did a really good job too, in fact today I was cleaning my drawers on my nightstand, found my cards from last year, and busted out crying.

What I REALLY look forward to is when Sophie is old enough to make/pick out gifts. Handprints, drawings, coffee cups, silly tee-shirts, fruit loop necklaces (LOL @ Modern Family once again) stuff like that :*)

EDIT: Err, I totally thought the question was my ideal day. My ideal gift I guess is the ideal day? LOL

I dont want a gift (though I know dh is taking Julia to buy me one). I dont get into Mothers Day too much for myself. I celebrate it instead with a focus on my own mom and its her birthday celebration too.

So my ideal gift is just simply my happy smilely family hanging out with me at home Which is what I am going to have, and then I will take my mom out to dinner for her Mothers Day/Birthday with my siblings and no little kiddos!

My Grandmother's birthday is May 8th so it falls on Mother's day this year ... I miss her so much! She would have been 98 this year!

Awwee I know how you feel. My grandpa passed away when Julia was 4 months old, and he would be 99 y/o this July. I miss him everyday of my life. I actually have a photo of him smiling and pointing at me right above my computer He is my hero and I love him soo much! I was there when he passed away and his last words to me were "je vous aime" which is "i love you" in french.

Ideal gift -- have DF acknowledge that it's Mother's Day for me. My 1st mother's day. I won't get anything..probably not even him wishing me Happy Mother's Day.

Since his Mother died 3 years ago he says he will never celebrate it again. Kind of sad.

That is sad He needs to recognize you as the mother of his baby though. You deserve that even though his own mother passed away. I am sorry but....Happy First Mothers Day to you!!!

My DH let me sleep in (or try to) and made pancakes for me.

To complete the ideal gift I'd have an afternoon in the spa followed by a yoga class on my own, and then dinner with DH and Juliana. I don't think the spa part is going to happen but he is going to babysit while I work out.
