My friend and I recently realized it would be great to get together after I get off work and take our babies on walks. However, the high today is 93. I realize our babies aren't newborns any more, so I have no idea how hot is too hot for a walk. Is that too high of a temperature to take babies on a 45 minute or so walk (with an air conditioned break in between).

I'll have her in short sleeves & shorts, and a hat, and she'll be wearing sun screen. I don't have the big stroller (it's in DH's car), so she'll be in the umbrella stroller, which has shade, but it's kind of minimal.

What do you think?

wow 93 thats some hot weather! I wouldnt be leaving my AC in that kind of weather LOL

Will she drink water? or drink a bottle on her own? keep a hat and sunglasses on? I would think so long as she keeps hydrated and is protected from sun then I would think it should be fine.

I would probably stay inside but we arent used to highs like that, especially in may, i can only imagine it must be much warmer come july.

i'm a first time mom so not really sure about this either. I would bring a sippy cup of water to keep her hydrated and maybe a bottle of ice water & wash cloths so you could cool her down if she get sweaty, and a blanket to cover parts of the stroller if you need more shade.

I would take her. Just keep her in cool clothes, sunscreen, a hat and water. She should be fine.

I would do it depending on the humidity level..lol That was always my deal breaker. The temp itself didn't bother me as much as the humidity.

I would just make sure she is in cooler clothes and keep her hydrated and if need be stop in some AC to cool off.

I would take her, I'd make sure to bring water tho. I live in Phoenix, so 93 is a walk in the park (haha!! no pun intended)

It was that hot here today, too, and Claire was out in her stroller while I watered plants and did some things outside. I didn't feel like it was too hot as long as we stayed in the shade and she was well hydrated. I just put her in a short-sleeved onesie, and she seemed to be comfortable.

if she is in shade she will be fine. i always take a zip lock bag with ice and put a wash cloth in it so as it melts there is a cold cloth if they get over heated. works like a charm.

It's gonna be the same here today but I think it will be fine. It better be or we won't be able to leave the house from here on out! I like Nicole's ice in a ziplock idea.

That is a great idea. I'm going to use it on my trip to FL in August!

I agree! I'm gonna have to use that one here as well. Me and mom go on walks usually once a week and I don't pay attention to the temp but we try to go before 1pm and do the whole shaded stroller, hat, sunscreen, lightweight clothing deal. It's like a previous poster said: "93 degrees is like a walk in the park" here too! And like another previous poster said "Humidity is the deal breaker" for me too!

I don't see any reason our babies can't be out in that heat. Just make sure she gets plenty to drink and is dressed appropriately.
