Elizabeth's post about gas prices got me thinking. I was also out this morning and noticed the huge price increase. Gas this morning was $1.39/L. I think that's about $5.30/gallon. I can't imagine what's going to happen when the long weekend hits next week! My car's not too bad on gas, but DH's truck...that's another story!

What are the prices where you live?

If I lived closer to the border I would go buy gas in the US!

We get gas at the Costco near our house and it's currently $4.09/gallon, but across San Diego the average is around $4.30-4.50/gallon. It went down the past few days since commodity prices fell, but they said on the news this morning not to expect it to go down much unless oil drops under $100 a barrel. Even then, prices go up much faster than they go down.

I paid 3.78 a gallon, and my car will last for two weeks on a full tank (honda accord), but DHs large truck chugs gas! He's paying like 100 a week in gas.

Our pumps have broken the $1.40/ litre mark today! Thank God I only drive enough to fill up once every 2-3 weeks (cost me $85 for my grand caravan "flex fuel" 2 days ago), and DH carpools with a coworker.

I have to buy premium gas for my car, and actually "cheated" and got mid-grade this time because it's so high and still paid $4.15. It's $60 to fill my car up and I have a smaller sedan. (BMW 328i)

Can't imagine what it's costing to fill up SUV's and Minivans right now!

I'm "supposed" to use premium as well, but I do cheat and get mid-grade these days as well. I don't fill it up. I just put in $60 and see how far it gets me

I'm heading toward Toronto tomorrow. I guess I put gas in here before I go and save a few cents.

It's $3.89 here. DH has a Chevy Avalance...which takes sooo much to fill up he has to do two transactions, b/c the pump shuts off after I *think* $100. Blah...gas is killing us.

Ours is ranging between $3.99 & $4.10/gallon for the low grade. I commute about 88 miles per day, 5 days a week & it's killing me. I drive a Ford Escape. We're honestly thinking about trading in the Escape on something like an Elantra for my commute. DH's is shorter & he only commutes 2 or 3 days per week (long shifts), so he'll drive the Highlander & I'll have the itty bitty commuter car. I think it might come down a little bit, but I will be shocked if we EVER see it under $3.50/gal again. Booooooo

No clue what it is exactly here....but def high. We are thinking of buying a 3rd vehicle just for commuting. If we got an older used Honda, it would pay for it self in a year in a half in fuel savings. (Our current vehicles are nice and paid off and big enough to use if we have to travel somewhere).

Let's just say - living in Toronto, I'm regretting the gas tank in my tahoe. It's flex fuel too, but this is just plain ridiculous.
I love my truck, but I'm glad I'm not driving like I used to!
