So, as you all know, Josh is laid up for the time being, and taking care of 2 completely dependent children is exhausting! My energy and patience wears thin on a daily basis because I'm not used to having to wait on Josh hand and foot - I know it's not his fault, and that's my job as mom, but it is an adjustment.

So, today, I manage to sneak away for a couple of seconds to get some laundry going in the garage, and on my way back into the house (our garage door is off of our back porch), I noticed this BEAUTIFUL lily growing. I have no green thumb to speak of, I've killed a tree for crying out loud! So seeing it there of its own accord was a surprise, and it's just so pretty! I really want to relocate it, because it's currently growing out of an old recycling bin - I think it deserves a more respectable place to call home! Anyone know of a way to safely move it? Like I said, I don't know the first thing about flowers or gardening. I want to see if my mom will let me take it to her house, she spends a lot of time working in her yard and has pretty flowers there, so I think she would take good care of it.

It's as simple as dig it up and transfer it. Use a pot and keep it in soil while transferring it. Don't go throwing it around or anything, but these guys are pretty hearty things.

Glad you found a moment of peace with this. You've had some real frustrations lately, and I can only imagine how tough it has been. Glad to hear you're all getting on though.

The only thing I would add to that is make sure it gets water everyday.

It's been raining all day, so we're good there for the moment

Mom always called those Day Lilies & they're pretty hardy. The multiply like crazy, too. I don't think Mom does anything to them & she's got about a billion of them.
