Here's the low down: Lyla had a 102.7 temp on Monday when I picked her up from day care. She threw up three times in the early evening and then slept for 12 hours. Tuesday she was back to her normal self but I kept her home since she had been sick. DH and I noticed a rash on her legs and feet that night. It was minor and didn't seem to be bothering her so we decided to see how it looked in the morning. Wednesday (yesterday) the rash was worse so I called the doctor's office to see what their opinion was and wound up making an appointment for Lyla for this (Thursday) morning. She seemed fine and the rash didn't seem to be bothering her. I put her down for her evening nap and when I went in to check on her she had thrown up in her crib. Still no fever. We gave her a bath and she went to bed at her normal time and slept for 11 hours. This morning (Thursday) the rash is WAY worse and is spreading. She now has it around her belly button, on the back of her neck, under her chin, and on her face! She still doesn't have a fever.

I can't think of anything new that she has been exposed to. Her diet has been the same and she has eaten like normal since Tuesday. I know DH is on his way to the drs office now, but I need some reassurance in the meantime!! Has anybody else experienced this with their LO?

Sorry this is so long!

It sounds like it could be roseola. It's possible for that to occur with vomiting and the rash in roseola appears after the fever is already gone.

Poor girl. I was thinking the roseola as well. But no experience with it.
Hopefully she is feeling better soon.

And the verdict is...Penicillin allergy!! Lyla has been on Augmentin for her ear infection. So, it will take a few days for the spots to clear up and the vomitting should stop since she's not having the meds any more.

We had to give her benadryl this morning. She has a rash from head to toe! DH is home with her today and said the benadryl helped almost instantly. I am so impressed with Lyla though, if my skin looked like hers does I would be flipping out. She just goes about being her happy lovely self!!

Glad you found out what it was and it wasn't a severe reaction to penicillin. At least now you know for any future antibiotics. I was going to say (but I'm way late) that with Roseola the fever would have been way higher and for a few days. And the rash starts on the tummy or back.
Hope she's doing better today!
