We missed our nine month check up. So what are some of the things the doctor told you at yours? And is there anything our 9month olds are not supposed to eat. I didn't know about the egg whites until someone posted it in another thread.

Yeah, the doctor said to be trying cooked egg yolk first. Perhaps hard boil the egg, separate the yolk, or some of it, and mix it into their cereal. Don't try the whites until after they are 1. If you are vaccinating with the MMR shot you will need to try egg whites before that shot, but not before a year, is the recommendation. Pedi also talks about food being fun before one, but BM or formula still being primary source of nutrition. Talks about milestones, which you can google. You can also take head circumference, and weight and height at home and check online charts. If you are concerend then you can book an appointment. Can't remember much else, it was over a month ago for us now. lol

I love our doctor...she doesn't really make a lot of recommendations...she just asks questions about how we're doing things, and what he's eating, and all of that and just kind of suggests things we could add if needed, but otherwise says good job. She just thought it was great that he's eating table food, and that he doesn't take a paci....she asked about how much formula he's taking, and checked his teeth, but that was about it.

Ty just had his yesterday, and our pedi said no eggs until after a year, no seafood until 2 y/o, no peanut butter until 18 months, no honey before 12 months, and the obvious no no choking hazard foods like hot dogs, grapes, nuts, etc that I wouldnt give my baby anyway.

He just looked at his "tooth" and checked him out all over, and that was about it. We dont vax, so none of that for us. Ty is a healthy baby boy with no concerns and hitting all his milestones, etc, so it was a pretty happy simple appt

Our practice doesn't even normally do a 9 month appointment. The only reason we went was to check his hearing/ears (which we were watching from his 6 month appointment.)

I think my pedi says no eggs whites till 12 month, no honey till 12 months, no peanut butter till 12 months. But Honestly, I dont give honey OR peanut butter until 2. Thats just my preference though. Oh and definitely no hot dogs or small chocking items. We rarely eat hot dogs, and I mean RARE(mainly because they trigger my migraines) but if we do, I will cut up DD1 in little pieces at 4 and she doesn't care so Ill still do it until she fusses about it I guess. Im a freak about chocking items. LOL
