I finally got it!!! I'm so excited...I know that sounds crazy, but I have never been regular and never really started a period on my own. It came as a huge shock! I was never so happy to have to go to the store and buy pads I told my friend that I was so happy because now I "work" Lol. Anyway a couple of questions:

1. Those who have already had a postpartum AF: Was it heavy or light?
Mine has been kind of light, like the last couple of days of a period when it starts to ease up.

2. Any cramping?
I haven't really had any that has been bad..I kind of thought that I would have bad cramping because of going so long without a period.

So I pulled out my clearblue easy fertility monitor...set it...and am good to go. Here's to hoping I ovulate this cycle. That sounds so crazy to me..I've never had my own cycles

I've been praying very specifically about this too..I said "God, if we are going to conceive naturally this time with no clomid or bc pills or anything then let my period start before Aidyen's 1st birthday, and if we are to go ahead with clomid then let nothing happen" and a week later there it is!!

Yay!! Im so happy for you! Sorry Im no help, with mirena I dont have AF BUT my first PP AF was yucky though. It was heavy and lots of cramps, but then again I only had bleeding for 2 weeks not 6 weeks like some.

My first few periods were awful. I thought I was going to bleed to death. But of course I wasn't nursing at all, just FF. Be thankful you just started them back! I having periods, I'd rather be pregnant lol!

Yay...Mine were always light and non-disruptive prepregnancy. Now they're much heavier and they're quite often accompanied by more cramping.

Everyone really is different though. My OB/GYN told me to expect a heavier flow for the first couple months - well, it'll be a year in a couple weeks, and it's still much heavier, but just starting to even off.

Good luck!

I just had my 2nd PP AF. They are a bit heavy in the beginning, but nothing like they were before I had Ethan. My cycles were very very short (20 days or so) & I had AF for 10-14 days. I also had incapacitating cramps for the 1st day. I was ovulating, but my luteal phase was really short (like 4-6 days) & I had trouble getting a pregnancy to stick. After Ethan my cycles were really regular & a normal length (26 days w/ AF for 5-7). So far, my cycles seem pretty normal after Avery, too.

I really think that having a baby kinda "re-sets" your body... either good or bad. It was good for me; we didn't have any trouble getting/staying preggo with Avery. My BFF is having the opposite problem. She has PCOS & got preggo with her 1st pretty easily (they only tried for about 5-6 months). They've been trying for 3 years now for their 2nd & she's had 1 loss. Hopefully your cycles will stay regular & you can get preggo again quickly!!

Yay for AF! I still haven't had mine, so I'm no help.

@ Amanda: I was the same way as your friend, I have PCOS and got pregnant with my son the first try and it took almost 10 years to get pregnant with Aidyen. Hopefully it will only take a short time this time. Good luck to your friend. And I spoke to soon about the cramping, holy moly it began and hasn't let up

Mine are light the first day and then pick up after that. They have actually been lighter than they used to be.
