Since I still have a toothless baby, I haven't thought about this much yet. What sort of brush and paste do you use to clean your LO's teeth?

We bought the baby orajel kit from Target. It's a tooth brush and non-fluoride, safe to swallow toothpaste.

I have a toothless baby too, but with Sarah Beth we used the infant toothpaste and brush once she had about 8 teeth. I'll probably do the same with Daniel.

We got the orajel thing, too. It's the little blue thing that goes on your finger. He just loves it. Instead of just trying to stick it in his mouth, I just got it all ready, and held it in front of his mouth. Once he started trying to chew on it, then I started brushing. I guess kind of like he thinks it's his idea. lol

We got the baby toothbrush that came with toothpaste that is safe to swallow. She likes it pretty well. We brush them at night...i guess we should start in the morning too.

I like the Baby Oragel finger tooth brush at this age. Avery's bottom teeth are barely in, so I'm only brushing them sporadically. After they have a few teeth, I swap to the regular baby tooth brush because Ethan started biting down on the finger toothbrush. OUCH!

No teeth yet, but I will use the finger brush and baby tooth paste like I did with DD 1.

She has two teeth and we use the finger brush. She loves to suck on it, so sometimes it is hard to actually brush anything.

I will admit, we are TERRIBLE about doing tooth brushing over here with him. Is that bad? He does have 8 teeth. 1) I forget and 2) I nurse him to sleep when I am home....so how would that work?

I'm lucky; Juliana LOVES to brush her teeth. She doesn't even need me to do it. She copies me. The problem is, I can't get her to stop! She won't use her baby toothbrush. She prefers mine, but then I got her her own "big girl" toothbrush and she'll settle for it. I got a really lightweight, skinny adult one for her. She loves it so much I have a hard time getting her to let go of the brush when it's time for bed. We aren't using toothpaste yet.

I have been brushing her gums in the bathtub at night for months now, before she could sit up at least! I got the Orajel brand tooth gel originally (I think it had Zoe, from Sesame Street on it) but when she started teething switched to this: Amazon.com: Weleda Children's Tooth Gel, 1.78 oz: Health & Personal Care because it was supposed to help with teething, and because it was natural. I found it at Whole Foods.

I also LOVE the Spiffies Tooth Wipes.
Soothing and Cleaning Natural Products for Baby and Toddler Oral Health

I seriously have been doing this forever it seems because of going through thrush with her when she was a tiny baby.
