We always talk about how we rarely do anything for ourselves, so...
If someone gave you $1000 & told you you had to spend it on yourself, what would you do with it? Nothing practical, no saving or paying bills. Imaginary splurge.

It would be incredibly hard to spend it on myself so honestly I would cheat and buy for my kids. The main thing would be some new clothes, and get my hair done. There isn't anything I really need so that would probably be it.

buy new clothes for work -- my work clothes are awful.
Get my hair done (my grey roots are coming in terribly)
I'd say that would take about $500
Is it sad that I can't think of anything but paying off bills, debt or buying groceries for the remaining $500? Is it also sad that I feel guilty about spending an imaginary $1000 on anything but savings and/or debt and/or stuff for baby and house?

I honestly don't think I could spend that much money on myself. Not without an insane amount of guilt, anyway... Can you buy more time? Because that would be my first choice lol I would probably put it towards something to improve my looks, like a boob job or a personal trainer or something

I've been thinking about Botox. My forehead creases up as I squint at my computer screen all day long. I think it would be around $300-$350 each time and I'd have to go back every 3 months.

oooh, I like the personal trainer idea (I went bathing suit shopping last night & it was depressing). I've been really hard on myself about my body-image lately & its done nothing but rain since I bought the jogging stroller! I think maybe if I lost the weight, some of the other things wouldn't bother me as much.

I would have a real hard time spending that much on myself, but if I had to I would buy clothes!! and a new camera..I dropped my good camera and broke it a few months ago then probably some new mac makeup and some...wow I can't think of anything else. I would probably just use the rest on my kids

I'd get new glasses since mine are broken, and then go to the spa. I'd get a pedicure, get a nice massage, and then head over to the mall to get some new clothes. Mine are slowly becoming too worn. I think between all that I could spend 1000 easily.

Nope, I was going to say the same thing. A thousand dollars is a crazy amount of money for us and we could use it for so much stuff so it's really hard for me to imagine spending that on myself and I would have a difficult time doing it. I can't even think of anything to answer so I would just sit on it until I found something I really wanted to use it for.

LOL you sure aren't!!! Everyone who said they would spend the money on their kids...what if you couldn't? What if it was either spend it on yourself or lose the money? Come on people, go shopping! Or on vacay!

I would book an entire day at a spa and buy a Pandora bracelet and fill it with charms.
