If you went to an outing at an amusement park, you were there with a group of people but not necessarily anyone you invited. Your dd wanted to buy an ice cream with HER money, but the other kids couldn't have one because their parents said no. Would you let her have it?

I think I would ask her to wait and get the ice cream later on the way home or sneak away from the group for a bit and let her have the ice cream then.

^Agreed. I might even let her know that we wouldn't want anyones feelings hurt. She can gladly have it after we leave the park.

I might opt for slipping away or waiting, just to be considerate.

Depending on he number of kids, I might also opt to offer to spring for everyone (if it were money issues & not just parents not wanting ice cream) bc I know how it is to have money be tight so as to not be able to spring for the little extras. People have been generous to us in he past so if I was able I'd pass it along.

I'd probably let her buy it, but I'd definitely talk to her first about considering other people's feelings and let her think about that first.

It really depends on the situation. But I would probably let her do it since it is her money, and found the timing to be okay. I mean if it was pop or something like that in a cool cup would a person say no?

Now I might say something like can we wait till we leave and explain why but I would let her make the choice. If its small group of kids and its an issue of no they can't have it because of money issues I might spring for them all. But I also think its different then having people over and eating in front of them vs being all in a group where you have the option at anytime to grab something from a kiosk.
