I know I'm not the only teacher in our DDC and several of you are SAHMs. If you're at home for the summer, do you have things planned to do with your LO over the summer? What are you most looking forward to? I'm excited about being able to go swimming with Ellie and finally be able to take her to some of the baby activities at the public library. I'm hoping I can use some of the time to catch up on my scrapbooking and finish Ellie's first year scrapbook before her birthday!

As much as I dislike where we live, it works to our advantage during the summer. There is a bunch of things we can do within a small limit of driving.

We plan on going out to the Sleepy Bear Dunes. We went last year and loved it, it had been a few years since we had been. Here are some pictures I took they're on my blog -- Mama's Outnumbered: A Sunday "Adventure" (image heavy.)

We also have the week long National Cherry Festival which we can kill time at.

We plan on swimming, going for walks, doing some local activities that don't rob the wallet.

I'm lucky because our public library also has Culture Passes so you can check out tickets to museums and the zoo and places like that instead of paying for them. They're hard to come by over the summer because everyone wants them, but I'm hoping I'll be able to nab a couple at least.

We hope to go to the Zoo but the good one (Detroit Zoo) is 4 hours from us. We grew up downstate so if we make a weekend trip out of it, it won't be hard to make arraignments.

I wish we had a zoo closer up here.

We are the opposite. I am looking forward to not doing things this summer. My kids have so much activities going on during the school year that I'm really looking forward to the down time.

I can't wait for the summer, even though I work, we will do lots of stuff on the weekends. The zoo, amusement parks (we have one that has free admission and Tommy likes to take in all the action), the lake, swimming.

I homeschool and we are doing 6 weeks summer school and 6 weeks OFF this summer. We have a state park 10 miles away with a cool creek and trail and playground.

I look forward to taking Heidi to her first beach trip sometime this summer. It's about 90 mins drive.

We've already gone tubing.. that was.. an experience. It was ok, but she will stay with gramma next time.

I also need to scrapbook baby books for all three kids this summer so bad!

I'm actually sad that school is over. LOL! I really look forward to when DS goes to preschool. Does that make me a bad mom? It's only 2.5 hrs, 2 days a week. But it's nice to get a little break.

We're going on 2 vacations--normally we don't even go on any, but DH is deploying this fall, so we wanted to do vacations with our families. DS is playing t-ball, and I'm trying to figure out what DD can do. They both need some activities to keep them busy. I'll also be doing a little homeschool with DS so he doesn't forget everything he learned this year in preschool.

I really don't know what we will be doing this summer because we will be in a brand new area. However, I can almost guarantee there is more going on there then there is here so I'm sure we will find things to do. Hopefully go to the beach, check out a local zoo, parks, etc.
