Definitely my maiden name. I have yet to talk to/meet one person that pronounce my married name properly. When someone asks now, I just automatically spell it.

Dislike both but am glad to have my married name but no one can pronounce it. Now it would be super cooll if we could have used DH's biological dad's last name. But we have to use his step dad's who adopted him. Meh... Can't stand Step-FIL.. major jerk.

I never really thought about it. I guess I like my married name because in my first marriage, I never changed it from my maiden name, but I did when I married DH.

Married. Nobody could say my maiden name right, always spelled it wrong and it wasn't that difficult. However it being a finish name, the double K always threw people off.
I just automatically spell out both my first and last name. Its become habit even though I'm sure most people know how to spell our last name haha.

My maiden name was impossible for anyone to pronounce or spell. I thought my married name would be much easier but that hasn't proved true. I don't like one better than the other, they both have important meaning to me.

I would say I like them both just fine. No one spelt my maiden name right. But it was understandable since they spelt it like they pronounced it. However with married no one pronounces it right which is mind boggling since it I can't see how they mess it up. At least they spell it right..lol
I tend to just spell both first and last name right away.

nobody can spell or pronounce my married name. it's hyphenated and it's 2 French, male first names but people think the first half of my last name is my middle name.
my maiden name was easy and only 4 letters long. I miss it.
I always spell my first and last name because people automatically spell "Laurie"

I prefer my maiden name. It's much easier to spell out and more people know how to pronounce it and spell it. Plus there was a cool nickname from a movie that people used to call me in High School.

I like them both the same, I guess. They're both fairly easy to spell. The only thing I dislike about my married name is that it's hard for people to understand over the phone, even when I spell it out.

Okay, this is kinda a long story, so I'll try to keep it simple.
I have had 3 last names, and will have a 4th when DF and I get married. I absolutely LOATHE my original maiden name. Do you guys remember that commercial a few years back (okay, maybe 4-5 years back) with the guy being interviewed who kept calling his interviewer "Mr. Dumb a s s" because of his name plate? Yeah, that was me. I had to endure name-calling my entire childhood, starting in the FIRST grade. To make it worse, the stupid name wasn't even mine by blood. It was my father's stepfather's last name, who left my grandmother (and all of his adopted kids) when my dad was a child, and only met my sister and I ONCE before he died.
When I got married when I was 20 I took my ex's last name. It's an okay name, it's a little silly sounding and strange because it is VERY italian and my first name (Aimee) is so french. People could never spell it either. I kept it though and kept it even after we divorced, in fact I kept it until about a month before I gave birth to Jackson.
I finally decided to change it when I was 8 months pregnant because I realized I didn't want my jerk ex-husbands name on my son's birth certificate. However, I knew there was no way I could go back to my maiden name so I chose my mother's maiden name, which is the name I have now and the one most of you know from facebook. Because it is a family name and it is Irish, I love it. It fits me perfectly, and it's easy to spell. When I changed it last summer everyone assumed I got married (well not family/friends but dr offices and companies, etc) and it's too complicated to explain so I just accepted their congrats. I love my last name so much that I am dreading changing it when DF and I get married. DF's last name is a nice name, but won't sound great with my first name at all. However, of course I want to share my husbands and sons last name so I think I might have to hyphenate
Sorry for the novel One of my best friends who used to work at a government passport center said I am going to have the hardest time getting a passport if I ever want one due to all the name changes. Oh well.
