Joey is making the transition from pureed food to finger foods. He gets really upset and throws a fit when i try to feed him with a spoon, but when I try to give him finger foods he hardly eats anything. Sometimes he tries and gets some in his mouth but half falls into the highchair. Other times, he gets really fussy after a few bites and stops trying to feed himself, but doesn't let me feed him either, even though I know he likes certain foods and has eaten them in the past. I just don't get it - maybe I am trying to force too much food into him, but I cant imagine that 2 peas and a few tiny chunks of banana are enough to satisfy him. Oh and the exception to this is that loves puffs and it's the only thing he will eat.

I wouldn't stress it too much. Until 12 months, the majority of nutrition is still supposed to be from breastmilk or formula and foods are just for fun. I imagine he's still getting used to the new textures.

What about giving him something like a bagel or a bigger piece of banana to munch on? Miranda is funny, sometimes I think she's eaten everything I gave her only to find that she's been stashing it beside her bum. As long as he still gets his milk, he's okay. The food is really just for them to get used to eating different textures and being able to feed themselves more than for nutrition.

dont worry or stress, remember food for fun until they're one

Ross doesnt like baby food, he only ate it for about a maybe 6 weeks or so and then refused to be fed or eat anything pureed so now hes on all table food, some times he eats great and other times he only eats a few bites and thats fine too. As long as hes getting enough BM or formula there is no need to worry
