So, I was sitting here thinking and the August '10 PR picture scroll was going on and for the first time I noticed how many more boys there are than girls. Initially, I thought "Well, that could be bc not everyone signed up to be in the scroll (sorry I don't know the proper name for that blinkie thing). Then I decided a poll might clear things up. And, while we're at it might as well throw a few questions out there...
When you got your BFP did you have an immediate *gender feeling*? If so, were you right?
What gender did you want and why? And, I know I know.. healthy baby was the #1 priority and if you got the opposite gender than what you originally wanted you might feel bad but don't! Everyone knows you love your baby just the way they are.
Did you take online gender quizes, chinese predictors, odd/even, etc..? Were any of them right (if you can remember)?
Did you buy "Intellegender" (The stuff from the drug store) or do the "Cabbage test"? If so, was it right?
Ultrasound at 20 weeks.. did you find out the gender or were you team green?
If you found out, what was your first random thought once the concept of "Oh, I'm having a ___" settled? This also applies if you found out post delivery
Did your baby's father have a feeling on the gender from the beginning? If so, were they right?
What about others in your family/friends? Did most of them feel one way or another about it? Were they right? Any interesting stories here?
What gender colors please you most? Example: Do you like pink best for your girl or some other color? Is blue what you like to see your boy in?

I had a boy....
When you got your BFP did you have an immediate *gender feeling*? If so, were you right? Not really.
What gender did you want and why? And, I know I know.. healthy baby was the #1 priority and if you got the opposite gender than what you originally wanted you might feel bad but don't! Everyone knows you love your baby just the way they are.
I wanted a boy because I already had a girl.
Did you take online gender quizes, chinese predictors, odd/even, etc..? Were any of them right (if you can remember)? Chinese calendar was wrong it said girl, some quizzes said boys. I thought for sure he was a girl.
Did you buy "Intellegender" (The stuff from the drug store) or do the "Cabbage test"? If so, was it right? no
Ultrasound at 20 weeks.. did you find out the gender or were you team green? Yep, we found out. And when the lady was showing us his femur, my dh thought it was his guy parts...it was funny. She thought he was crazy.
If you found out, what was your first random thought once the concept of "Oh, I'm having a ___" settled? This also applies if you found out post delivery. I was just super excited.
Did your baby's father have a feeling on the gender from the beginning? If so, were they right? He said boy from the beginning, yup he was right.
What about others in your family/friends? Did most of them feel one way or another about it? Were they right? Any interesting stories here? Most said girl.
What gender colors please you most? Example: Do you like pink best for your girl or some other color? Is blue what you like to see your boy in? I like pink and purples for girls browns and navy for boys.

Have a girl.
I didn't feel one way or the other. There were days where I thought oh its a boy, then others no its a girl.
I didn't buy any intelligenders or do any wives tale tricks.
At our U/S when they said girl we both were happy but also still questionable on is it really a girl or not. We couldn't tell..lol
DH was very happy. Everybody kept going to him oh we are sorry its not a boy (his family) and he got upset and said no matter what I am having a child that in itself is something we thought would never happen so boy or girl I am happy.
DH didn't have a feeling either..lol
My mom and cousin all said girl and started buying stuff before we actually found out the sex. Good thing they were right..lol
Rosie wears a lot of pink but she also wears a lot of other colors too. But we are overflowing with the pinks.

When you got your BFP did you have an immediate *gender feeling*? If so, were you right? It was weird bc DH and I had been saying since the birth if DS that we felt our next would be a boy but as soon as I got the BFP I had *girl* vibes
What gender did you want and why? I would have LOVED a boy but deep down I wanted a girl mainly bc of DD1. I wanted her to have a sister closer in age than if we had our 4th be a girl. If that happened they would be 11 yrs apart instead of 7. Next time I really want a brother for DS. After that it wouldn't matter one way or the other.
Did you take online gender quizes, chinese predictors, odd/even, etc..? I did and I think most of them leaned towards girl
Did you buy "Intellegender" (The stuff from the drug store) or do the "Cabbage test"? If so, was it right? I did the cabbage test and it said girl.
Ultrasound at 20 weeks.. did you find out the gender or were you team green? team green but at the ultrasound I thought I saw boy goods (I guess it was the umbilical cord). So we went most of the pg thinking it was a boy but I always had this naggy feeling it was actually a girl.
If you found out, what was your first random thought once the concept of "Oh, I'm having a ___" settled? This also applies if you found out post delivery DH told me what 'it' was.. he said "She's beautiful and looks just like (our DD1)" I was so so happy! I remember thinking "Ah hahaha.. I was right"
Did your baby's father have a feeling on the gender from the beginning? If so, were they right He thought it was a boy up until the last few weeks and then he too was convinced it was a girl
What about others in your family/friends? Did most of them feel one way or another about it? Were they right? Any interesting stories here? most people thought it was a boy... they was wrong-ong-ong
What gender colors please you most? I prefer Peach and purple for Heidi. For DD1 I liked red, orange, yellow, green. Sometimes purple. Neither one of them have had a *pink* feel to them. DS I like in Green and Grey. I'm not very into blue.

When you got your BFP did you have an immediate *gender feeling*? If so, were you right? I knew from the beginning she was a girl and I was right.
What gender did you want and why? And, I know I know.. healthy baby was the #1 priority and if you got the opposite gender than what you originally wanted you might feel bad but don't! Everyone knows you love your baby just the way they are. We were trying for a boy using the Shettle's method, but I got impatient after my m/c and didn't time it right, so we got a girl. We wanted a boy first b/c DH is the oldest and liked being a big brother and I am the oldest and always wished I had a big brother.
Did you take online gender quizes, chinese predictors, odd/even, etc..? Were any of them right (if you can remember)? I did the chinese predictor and it was right.
Did you buy "Intellegender" (The stuff from the drug store) or do the "Cabbage test"? If so, was it right? Didn't do this.
Ultrasound at 20 weeks.. did you find out the gender or were you team green? We found out the gender.
If you found out, what was your first random thought once the concept of "Oh, I'm having a ___" settled? This also applies if you found out post delivery I was disappointed, but I got over it pretty quick. This is the reason I wanted to find out ahead of time. I was afraid if we had a girl and I didn't have time to get used to the idea, I'd be disappointed in the delivery room and I wanted the birth to be a happy experience.
Did your baby's father have a feeling on the gender from the beginning? If so, were they right? Nope, not really.
What about others in your family/friends? Did most of them feel one way or another about it? Were they right? Any interesting stories here? No one really guessed.
What gender colors please you most? Example: Do you like pink best for your girl or some other color? Is blue what you like to see your boy in? I dont' really dress Ellie in a lot of gender colors b/c she looks nice in yellows and greens. She does have a lot of pink and purple stuff that we were given as gifts that she looks cute in though. If I had to pick a gender color, I like her best in purple.

We felt the same way with DD1. We wanted the oldest to be a boy. We did team green but DH was convinced the whole time it was a girl. Wouldn't take her back of course! By the time she was delivered we had our head so wrapped around a girl that 'boy' just seemed alien to us. We did find out with DS though bc we probably would have felt a little disappointed if we had another girl so I think we wanted to have time to get excited but it was a boy

When you got your BFP did you have an immediate *gender feeling*? If so, were you right? I thought it was a girl
What gender did you want and why? I wanted a girl for DD, so she could have a sister, but I wanted a boy for DH so he could have a son. I'm glad we had a boy though because that gave us one of each and the pressure was off on trying for a third just to have a boy.
Did you take online gender quizes, chinese predictors, odd/even, etc..? Were any of them right (if you can remember)? chinese gender chart said girl, a couple of other quizzes said boy. I had a lot of boy dreams.
Did you buy "Intellegender" (The stuff from the drug store) or do the "Cabbage test"? no
Ultrasound at 20 weeks.. did you find out the gender or were you team green? we found out. if we ever have a third I will wait until birth to find out.
If you found out, what was your first random thought once the concept of "Oh, I'm having a ___" settled? it was really hard for me to imagine having a boy. and it was weird to suddenly be on the blue team when I was so used to being on the pink team with DD.
Did your baby's father have a feeling on the gender from the beginning? If so, were they right? no feeling
What about others in your family/friends? Did most of them feel one way or another about it? Were they right? Any interesting stories here? some people really thought girl, some really thought boy.
What gender colors please you most? my daughter looks good in blue, purple, and green because of her hair color. my son looks amazing in blue, but I also like him in red and brown. DD wears a lot of pink though. and pink is my favorite color.

When you got your BFP did you have an immediate *gender feeling*? If so, were you right? I knew it was a boy. I had an IUI and my due date was 40 weeks and 1 day from the IUI. DH had done all this IUI research and apparently boys tend to be conceived within 1-2 days and girls 3-5 or something like that so that settled that.
What gender did you want and why? And, I know I know.. healthy baby was the #1 priority and if you got the opposite gender than what you originally wanted you might feel bad but don't! Everyone knows you love your baby just the way they are. We wanted a boy, not sure why, it just felt "right" to us to have a boy first.
Did you take online gender quizes, chinese predictors, odd/even, etc..? Were any of them right (if you can remember)? I think I took a couple of online tests, and the ones I did predicted boy.
Did you buy "Intellegender" (The stuff from the drug store) or do the "Cabbage test"? If so, was it right? No, I did not.
Ultrasound at 20 weeks.. did you find out the gender or were you team green? We found out, I am much too impatient to wait! Brendan was positioned in such a way that the tech wasn't sure she'd be able to find his goods and I was SOOO upset. He cooperated finally though- yay!
If you found out, what was your first random thought once the concept of "Oh, I'm having a ___" settled? This also applies if you found out post delivery . We were just excited, and happy because we had settled on a boy name but were really struggling with a girl's name.
Did your baby's father have a feeling on the gender from the beginning? If so, were they right? DH was positive it was boy based off the research he had done.
What about others in your family/friends? Did most of them feel one way or another about it? Were they right? Any interesting stories here? Co-workers said girl, they were wrong of course
What gender colors please you most? Example: Do you like pink best for your girl or some other color? Is blue what you like to see your boy in? Brendan wears everything. He's got DH's coloring, so he looks good in all colors I've tried.

When you got your BFP did you have an immediate *gender feeling*? If so, were you right? I was 99% sure that I was having a boy....obviously wrong.
What gender did you want and why? And, I know I know.. healthy baby was the #1 priority and if you got the opposite gender than what you originally wanted you might feel bad but don't! Everyone knows you love your baby just the way they are. I was hoping for a boy just because I already had 2 girls and 1 boy, and DS was waiting for a little brother.
Did you take online gender quizes, chinese predictors, odd/even, etc..? Were any of them right (if you can remember)? I think I did but I can't remember if they were right
Did you buy "Intellegender" (The stuff from the drug store) or do the "Cabbage test"? If so, was it right? no
Ultrasound at 20 weeks.. did you find out the gender or were you team green? we did find out and I was really surprised that it was a girl, because from the u/s pic Miranda looked like my DS
If you found out, what was your first random thought once the concept of "Oh, I'm having a ___" settled? This also applies if you found out post delivery. Well I was really really surprised because my gut was telling me boy the whole time.
Did your baby's father have a feeling on the gender from the beginning? If so, were they right? not really
What about others in your family/friends? Did most of them feel one way or another about it? Were they right? Any interesting stories here? not really
What gender colors please you most? Example: Do you like pink best for your girl or some other color? Is blue what you like to see your boy in? I love pink & purple.

When you got your BFP did you have an immediate *gender feeling*? If so, were you right? I thought it was twins, a boy and a girl.
What gender did you want and why? I honestly didn't have a preference...i guess if i Had to pick i would say a boy.
Did you take online gender quizes, chinese predictors, odd/even, etc..? Were any of them right (if you can remember)? nope
Did you buy "Intellegender" (The stuff from the drug store) or do the "Cabbage test"? If so, was it right? nope.
Ultrasound at 20 weeks.. did you find out the gender or were you team green? Found out!
If you found out, what was your first random thought once the concept of "Oh, I'm having a ___" settled? I became a bit sad that he would never know his grandfather (my father), i know my father would have loved having a grandson.
Did your baby's father have a feeling on the gender from the beginning? If so, were they right? He wanted a boy....i think he thought Sam was a girl.
What about others in your family/friends? Did most of them feel one way or another about it? Were they right? Any interesting stories here? My mom wanted a boy because she had wanted a son of her own but only had my sister and i.
What gender colors please you most? Example: Do you like pink best for your girl or some other color? Is blue what you like to see your boy in? I think Sam looks Really good in blue, especially light blue.

The moment I found out, I knew it was a girl. I wanted a boy, but knew it was a girl. Dh would never say what he wanted or thought she was going to be. We found out at our u/s as 19 weeks she was for sure a girl. I couldn't be happier now! I did a few Chinese gender tests, I don't remember what they said.

When you got your BFP did you have an immediate *gender feeling*? If so, were you right? No, I didn't. I got a gender feeling at my 10 week u/s, but not when I saw the BFP. I was too much in shock. Oh and I had a feeling he was a boy at the u/s, so yes, I was right.
What gender did you want and why? I honestly and truly wanted a boy very much, as did my DF. I tried to convince myself it was a girl just so I wouldn't be disappointed!
Did you take online gender quizes, chinese predictors, odd/even, etc..? Were any of them right (if you can remember)? Oh yes, all that fun stuff. I believe the chinese predictor was right.
Did you buy "Intellegender" (The stuff from the drug store) or do the "Cabbage test"? If so, was it right? Nope, didn't do it.
Ultrasound at 20 weeks.. did you find out the gender or were you team green? We found out at 17 weeks, and had it confirmed at 20.
If you found out, what was your first random thought once the concept of "Oh, I'm having a ___" settled? This also applies if you found out post delivery: I just remember being very, very very happy.
Did your baby's father have a feeling on the gender from the beginning? If so, were they right? He kept saying it was a boy, but I don't know if he really thought it was or he was just hoping it was.
What about others in your family/friends? Did most of them feel one way or another about it? Were they right? Any interesting stories here? Nah, almost no one guessed or had a feeling about it.
What gender colors please you most? Example: Do you like pink best for your girl or some other color? Is blue what you like to see your boy in? I prefer green on Jackson, and most of the things we own for him are green/tan, including his crib set, stroller, etc. This way if we ever have a girl we can use all the same stuff!
