So Maggie is about 3 weeks shy of turning 1, and her nap schedule is going wonky again. She used to need two naps every day between 9 and 11 and between 2 and 4, but she's pushing longer in the morning. While she still needs two naps at the moment, it feels like she's pushing to one major afternoon siesta. Is this the right timing for that?
BTDT Mommies, when did your first little ones move to a single nap during the day?

I cant remember but Im thinking it was a little after 1. I know she was in daycare and moved to the "toddler room" and they only allowed 1 nap but I'd pick her up and she'd come home and fall asleep for a little bit until she got used to that schedule.
Kaileigh has went a few times with only 1 but its not a normal for her.
I cant believe she's going to be 1 so soon!!!

I know....I'm having quite the angst this week...I suppose a pre-apologetic post might be in order to the members of this board. I'm not sure I'm handling it so well...

Emily normally naps at 9 til about 10 and from 1 til about 230 or 3. Lately, she has been only napping for about 30 minutes in the morning, and taking a longer nap in the afternoon. Guess this is going to be her new schedule.

Wow, I didn't realize Maggie is so much older than Juliana. Juliana's not even 10 months yet. Juliana's still taking 3 naps/day, most days, although I've been thinking she's trying to drop a nap for a month or more! I've learned to just go with the flow because it never works to try to predict her schedule.

Leila is only 9 months old too, and we're still at 3 naps a day most days. Sometimes just 2, but I don't see her dropping off to just 1 anytime soon. She usually wakes up around 7:00, that's predictable. But her nap-times are all helter-skelter, sometimes she's ready one hour after waking up, other days she'll go 3-4 hours before she gets tired again. But either way, she still gets 2-3 decent naps in per day.

Noah moved to one nap a day at 11 months, but then moved back to two naps a day at 14 months and then switched back to one nap a day at around 16 months. Babies are random. ha

I think Ethan was right around the 1 year mark. His morning nap got later & then he dropped the afternoon nap all together. I definitely had to make his bedtime much earlier for a few months (like 7-730 pm) after he dropped the afternoon nap.
When Ethan was this age I was already planning baby #2, but there's no baby #3 plan, so I'm really having some trouble with the fact that my girl is about to be 1 year old.

I was seriously just going to make this exact same post! Emmett is 10 months and some change but the last week has been crazy. He used to nap from 10:30am to 12:30pm and then from 3:30pm to 4:30pm.
This past week, he doesn't go down until noon and sleeps until 2 or 2:30! Then, he's crazy in the evening and hasn't gone down at all most of the days. I miss the second nap already. He's wearing me out.

I remembering thinking DD was ready for 1 nap at 10 months and someone had suggested it. She had done it with her youngest because it worked better for her family. I tried it and it didn't work. After fighting the first nap for a couple of weeks, DD went back to her regular napping schedule. Once she went to daycare at 13 months, 85% of the time she still had a morning nap there or else she was falling asleep at lunch. At about 16 months she was done with morning naps altogether and just had an afternoon nap from about 12:30-3:00.
Looks like we're on day 2 of one nap. Yesterday it was 10:15-1:45. Today it seems to be 11:30 - ?, it's 1:45 and he's still asleep. Maybe we're heading toward one nap as well.
