I now have the baby so many of you had a few weeks or even months back. A crawling, pincer-grasping/eating everything (she ate cheerios today after my post, and has since tried to eat every piece of lint in this house...sweeping has gone from an every-other-day thing to a multi-day thing, I think), getting into everything-baby.
I bought stuff to babyproof our room but OMG I just realized today that its not enough! Like we have a hamper that has these straps for handles...they are pretty loose so its possible a baby or toddler could suffocate themselves with them...so I threw them into the hamper instead of hanging over but she could easily tip the hamper...not sure what do about that, other than gate off the bathroom, and when we are in the bathroom, to move the hamper into the bedroom? Ugh, what a pain!! I don't understand why there isn't a door to the bathroom anyway, and its like that in our new place as well!
And my prediction of a clinging mobile baby has come true. She is not an independent child. Now that she is crawling/scooting or whatever the heck that quasimodo thing is, she makes her way to me most of the time. I was getting ready earlier and didn't hear her so I looked around the bathroom and didn't see her so I was about to go look in the bedroom for her when she grabbed me around the legs. Freaky!!
On the other hand, she is so stinkin cute. I LOVED the chubby-6 month old I used to have, but this new almost-toddler baby is so freaking adorable. She talks constantly and I have a feeling she is really saying something, I just don't understand what. Well, today I could have sworn she said "Hello, how are you doing?" and when I answered "I'm doing well, how are you?" she responded with "I'm doing well, thanks." LOL Ok, I know she totally didn't say all that but it sounded like she did, I swear! Yes, I am a loony momma!
