What kind of music do you like to listen to? Are or were you a musician?

Honestly, I'm not really picky about my music as long as its something I can sing along to. I listen to a lot of country because it's what my father listened to, but DH listens to mostly hard rock and alternative, so I've picked up a lot of that too. When I was in school, I played the violin and french horn and I was in the choir. A friend and I are thinking of going to join the choir at ASU to get a chance to do some singing. I especially love to crank up the music and sing along when I'm housecleaning or in the car.

I listen to all kinds of music. Mostly current pop and some older country. I really like anything though.

I'm pretty picky about music bc my dad is a musician and has instilled in me a certain degree of quality when defining the word "music". I'm a little snooty in this regard.

Firstly, to me, classical is the #1 purest form of quality music. Any band that actually uses real instruments instead of a synthesizer gets more respect from me. That isn't to say that I love all instrument-using bands. I do not like Nickleback or anything that sounds anything like that. I love Classic rock: Jimi Hendrix, Led Z, Pink Floyd, Ozzy osbourne, Cream, etc..

I also love the 90's alternative stuff: Nirvana, Cake, Foo Fighters. Soundgarden, etc..

I like the Beatles and other 50's/60's stuff..

I love 80's music to get me in an upbeat mood.

Not a fan of new country but do love some old country.

Out of the newer stuff (Post 2000's) I like Muse, Gorillaz, Jason Mraz, etc..

But since I rarely listen to the radio and I don't have cable I don't get music new music exposure.

I've mentioned it in other posts but I am a flute player but I'm very rusty right now.

I like all kinds of music. I grew up listening to 'oldies' like journey, fleetwood mac but started listening to more rock in highschool, now my preferences have changed and I listen to a lot of hip hop but I still love 'oldies' and country, some rock stuff. I listen to christian radio a lot too lately.
I'm not musically inclined at all, I love to sing, but I have a horrible voice (like, couldnt carry a tune in a bucket, horrible). I played the flute in elementary school for a couple months but never actually knew how to play, I kinda faked my way thru by pretending I was playing but really, I wasnt blowing into the flute at all.
