Where and what would your ideal home be like?

I really like extremes in terms of where I live. I love living in the middle of a big city which I did when I was at GA Tech, and I also like living way out in the country. I lived on a farm for a while when I was a kid. Right now, I'm in Phoenix in an area that is technically in the city, but has more of a suburb feel to it. I wish we had better public transportation here, but it's a really nice neighborhood. My ideal home would probably be a 1 story with a pool, with enough room for a few kids. It would also be wired for Internet in every room. Haha! Right now we're living in DH's grandmother's house because she's in assisted living and needs someone to rent it and take care of it. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, with a huge yard and a pool (which we put a fence around). I'd really love to buy it and remodel it. DH would like to extend the house into the back yard a little and make the master bedroom into a bigger suite because right now the bathroom is so small there's barely room for one person in it.

Id like to live in a small city/large town. Somewhere with good schools, that has shopping, doctors ect, basically i dont want to have to go out of town for something we need, but i like not feeling like i live in a huge city. Id like a detached home (we live in a townhouse now) and id like 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, id like a finished basement as well

I would like to live in a quiet town that is close to a large town/city where there are things to do. Any sort of house would be nice, honestly, because we rent and we are still in school so we don't have the option of a really nice apartment/condo, we need to be cheap. DF and I both love log cabins though so ideally I would like to live in a nice large cabin built by US, near a small pond/lake.
