Babysitters

How do/will you go about finding a baby sitter for your LOs? Do you only let family watch LO or do you have other ways of finding someone?

When I went back to work originally, SIL and FIL were babysitting for me, with one of SIL's friends who was also an education major at college babysitting one day a week. When that schedule changed, I used craigslist to find a home daycare, but ended up not being happy with the first one and we moved Ellie to a second woman who ended up being a neighbor of one of my fellow teachers, so I was more comfortable with it. On any other occasions, it's always been family who watches Ellie, so I haven't had to look for an outside sitter. I do have a friend who usually has one of their daycare teachers do babysitting for her when they need someone on weekends or in the evenings.

I don't see myself every letting anyone aside from family or friends watching him.

weve only left Ross for less than an hour and he was left with MIL, i dont think i will be comfortable leaving him with anyone other than MIL and FIL for a while.

I have my neighbour lined up to watch Miranda and Isabelle once I go back to work in August. She is awesome with kids and they all love her. She has her own little boy and whe watches a couple of other kids. I know that they'll have a blast there. I'm also planning on working from home 2 days/week.

When I first went back to work, a girl I know's mom watched him, she ended up being a pill popper so I took him out of there as soon as I found out and my neighbor watched him for a couple months until she had to focus more on school. So I found a in home daycare lady on craigslist and he's been going to her ever since. He loves her and she adores him, I talked to her before I went back to work, and really regret not choosing her in the first place.

I only leave my LO with family. But I am a sahm so I don't have to worry about daycare. If I did go back to work I think I would be more comfortable with a reputable franchise type day care with security cameras and regulations. While I was pregnant and still working, a security guard from our building was fired because of inappropriate touching of high school girls. I then found out his wife ran a home day care. I just don't trust anyone.
