Lyla and I are going to Mexico for a week this summer. Poor DH is a full time student and has to stay behind to take summer school. We are going with my parents, Aunt, Uncle, and cousin. I am excited to say the least! Lyla flew from Oklahoma to California during Spring Break and did great. Now, she is a bit more wiggly and doesn't want to be held. Any ideas for how to keep her occupied on the plane? Also if anybody else has taken their LOs to Mexico, any input?

im super jealous! we will be flying this summer as well, at the end of June, but not to mexico just to Thunderbay, for my grandpa;s 80th b-day. Weve not flown before so i have no tips, but were bringing lots of toys, books, snacks and all that good stuff, hopefully he will do alright (maybe even sleep)

Hope you have a great trip!

Hope you guys have fun!
My sister went to Mexico in Feb. with her 8 month old and 3 year old. The only thing she said was that she had no time to herself to relax, well..mainly because her DD won't go to anyone else.
Maybe try to keep her in the carrier on you during the flight, this way she can't get away. I gave Isabelle some Benadryl before we took off when we flew to Florida 2 years ago. She was almost 2 and she slept the whole flight.

Can you put her in her carseat? I would do that, this way she will be just like in the car.

Unfortunately we cant' afford the extra seat, so Lyla will be in my lap. The benadryl is a good idea. We gave it to her for her penicillin reaction and it made her drowsy.

What resort are you staying at? I have been to Iberostar resorts in Riviera Maya, and it was awesome - I would go back in a heartbeat. It was a family friendly place and it seemed like there was a lot for kids to do there.

I flew with Stevie across the country. It was an overnight flight so he slept most of the time. Did you book the flight already?

We are staying at the Grand Mayan in Puerto Vallarta. The flight has been booked. We leave around 9:30 in the morning.

How fun. Just take toys and snacks to entertain her with. As far as a carrier, you aren't allowed to have babies in carriers during take off and landing so it can be more of a pain than it's worth (although it's very handy for the airport). Just try to relax and not worry about it too much because otherwise it can be kind of stressful.
