Holy cow! I have been using Proactive for years but didn't quite realize how expensive it is. I pay $67 bucks for 3 months of stuff. I have been super happy with the product, but figured I would ask...are there other comparable products out there that cost less?
(This is part of my 'turn a critical eye' on every part of our spending budget. If Proactive is the best, then I will stick with that....just had to ask what you ladies know/use.)

I have no other ideas, but Im glad to know that it really does work. I've always secretly wondered if it really did work or not.

I could totally be a Proactive commercial. I was one of those people who did EVERYTHING including tons of prescription medicines to clear my skin.
But, my skin is a little better now that I'm older. Also, since I got my PCOS largely under control, I don't get as much cystic acne. So, I only use Proactive once a day now and don't even usually wash my face at night (I used to use it twice a day)

I use Bobbi Brown's EXTRA Balm rinse - Cleansers : EXTRA Balm Rinse - Bobbi Brown Cosmetics
The stuff lasts forever. I have had this jar for months and it doesn't even look like I have used it. One of my girlfriends here (who actually works for Bobbi Brown) told me that it can last up to a year for some people, but it definitely lasts more than 3 months!
I also use BB Toner & moisturizer. The toner takes me so long to use that I have actually thrown it out because I was afraid it went bad. Bobbi Brown Cosmetics :: Toners
I use several different moisturizers though, it just depends on the day! My poor skin was used to 100% humidity and then I moved up here and it's dry like crazy.

Even though I dont have AF, I still tend to have bouts of PMS and a week of horrible acne. We dont use bar soap here but my pedi recommended using dove bar soap on my dd for eczema so we did, and I tried it on my face and wow! It actually makes my face feel and look better. Thought, I'd just share that. I have no idea if it's even intended to be used for that but it works for me. I just use an acne cream if I see a blemish begin.

I've used the Proactive generics and they ARE NOT the same so don't waste your money trying. I used to get cystic acne during AF before my pregnancies, but since DD I've only had 2 periods since I got preggo pretty much right away with the twins and since having the twins I haven't had AF because I take BCP straight through. My skin has been so clear so I haven't had to use Proactive, but I used to use it and loved it.

I use Lancome, and love how clean it makes my skin feel. It lasts me about 3 months per bottle and I wash my face mostly twice per day.

I had a lot of trouble with break-outs after having Ethan & then again after Avery. Stupid hormones. Anyway, on Holly's recommendation, I started using the Bobbi Brown Tube Soap & moisturizer. I haven't had a break-out since I started using it. I'm honestly not sure it would be any cheaper than the Proactive, though. I've had it since the first week in March & am no where near being out of it.

I love this too. I actually order mine on ebay. They are 2oz sample sizes, but get them for $7 or $8 a tube with free shipping and no tax. Cheaper than paying $25 for a 4oz tube.
