your LO for their first birthday?
I really need some ideas.
I do not want to buy Eva clothes or toys she already has too many.
Im thinking of possibly getting a bracelet or something along those lines and having it engraved but I dont know whether to leave that for later down the track.

Carlos has his eye on a remote control car. It's like the ones they ride, but it actually comes with a remote control that you control it with. I'm wanting to get him something like a ball pit, or something to climb on...can't really decide. He just needs something a little more physical. He has so many toys that you just sit and play with. I want him to do something more...not sure what. lol
Other than that idk. I was thinking the radio flyer wagon with the canopy for this summer, but not sure yet.
It's getting so close, I really need to decide, but there are so many possibilities.

I got her a couple of picture puzzles (the wooden shape puzzles with the handles on each piece), and a sock monkey jack in the box. I also got her a tea set. I'm headed to a toy warehouse sale this weekend to pick up any odds or ends. I'm decking out her not such a big deal birthday party - I don't know why I keep trying to convince myself that I'm not making a big deal of it...I can't restrain myself. I'm staying away from clothes too. I've already gotten her plenty for the spring summer, and with 10 couples coming, there's no doubt in my mind there will be plenty of toys/clothes to go around. I just cleaned out her closet/drawers to make room. I still have to weed through her toys to make room for the new ones.
We were going to get her a swing set for her main gift. But since we're planning on moving mid to end summer, we're planning to wait until we move or wait til her next birthday. Her great grandma bought her a pool (12ft by 2.5 ft deep) so we can get in there with her. And I splurged big time on her cake. Those are her big gifts.

I'm thinking of a rocking horse or ride-on toy. I hope she'll play with it, because her sister has a room full of toys she rarely plays with.
Also, of course, some books to read!

I'm getting Luca a push walker, a ballpit and some clothes if I can find some (stupid stores only have winter clothes for sale here even though it doesn't get cold where I live ) I think jewellery engraved is a beautiful idea and I would love to do something like that if I had a girl!!

I haven't even thought about gifts yet. I am still working on the party
The push walker toys are a cute idea though. Especially since he is only standing right now.

He is too young to really know so I'm skipping the toys/books/clothes. I've decided to make a time capsule for him that includes a few special things from his first year of life. I was thinking that I could add something every year, but for the first year I'll definitely have a few photos, and the little knit hat they put on him in the hospital. I want it to be something that he'll find special later in life. I don't know what age he'll receive it though.

No clue. She doesnt need toys or clothes. I thought about savings bonds, maybe....or starting a savings account for her & getting her a piggy bank. Idk.

Heather, we just ordered the water/sand table from One Step Ahead for our friends whose son is turning 1 this week!!! Too funny.
(My only complaint about One Step ahead is that you can't use double promos AND their shipping is pricey. I had a 15% off coupon and a free shipping coupon but couldn't use both. I ended up using the 15% off but when all was said and done I spent at least $40 on shipping. grrrr. That's why I buy most things on Amazon.)

Alison, where is that from? DH is on this huge "lets only buy wooden toys" thing---that is AWESOME.
(Which I agree with him, we have too much "junk")
It's hard, because everytime we say we're going to get something one of our parents (my parents, Sean's dad) are like, "Well that's what I'll get her!"
My parents got her books, a table and chair set & a vintage looking pink tricycle from RH Baby & Child. (I know she is way too young for a tricycle but my mom has wanted her to have this since I was pregnant, she's afraid they will discontinue them LOL)
Sean's dad is getting her an all-terrain Radio Flyer wagon and books.
So far we've just gotten books, Alphabet Blocks from PBK, and I want to get that cube thing Alison linked. I want to get some of the Melissa & Doug sound puzzles, and I really want this wooden slide from IKEA but I think that will wait until Christmas. We're going to be in Seattle for "Yo Gabba Gabba" live in November and we would be going past an IKEA!
I also want to order the canvas bookshelf but I can't decide if I want to get a name on it or not or if I want to get the pastel colored one. Oh and Fisher Price Little People---she LOVES those, she got some in some FP Easter Eggs at Target for Easter and plays with them all the time.

Here's the link : Amazon.com: Deluxe Mini Play Cube by Anatex: Toys & Games
About 6 months ago we cleared through all the toys and kept the ones that were really played with : Legos, cars, toy kitchen, blocks and Zoobs. Everything else was donated and I LOVE it. My house is quieter and cleaner and the kids aren't overwhelmed anymore. Most of our friends and family get books or puzzles for gifts and it just a nice change from years past.

I don't really know. Sigh. We have so much stuff because E & A are close in age. But that means she doesn't have many girly things. I really like the Busy Cube Alison posted, but I'm a little afraid Ethan would totally steal that. I'll go look around.

I love that idea.
My mom keeps on getting more stuff for Stella. She definitely doesn't need more clothes or toys. Her birthday is so soon I need to get on it.
