I picked up a couple more books today for Sophie's birthday.

"Love you Forever", "Someday", and "If I could keep you little"

I already knew "Love you Forever" was sad because I had read it before but Someday just totally made me cry my eyes out!

I mean this alone

Ahhh! What other books (if any) have done the same to you?

I guess I'm just not a crier... I haven't cried at any of Ethan's books. Right now Avery just wants to grab them & stuff them in her mouth, so I only read to her when she's having her bottle. Ethan mainly likes stories about animals, so maybe they're just not as sad. He has always liked "The Best Nest" about the baby owl who tests out different places to sleep & ends up back in his nest snuggled up with his brothers & sisters.

Love you Forever always makes me cry...i can't even get through it.

This one gets me too...
Amazon.com: The Legend of Sleeping Bear (9781886947351): Kathy-Jo Wargin, Gijsbert Van Frankenhuyzen: Books

Beautifully illustrated book that explains the Sleeping Bear dunes in Michigan. But it's about a Mother Bear who has to escape a forest fire with her cubs and swim across Lake Michigan...they don't survive.

I guess Arielle has the wrong books...she just has ABC books, counting books, opposites books, etc... Oh and a bunch of Dr. Seuss. None of them have made me cry

I am not a crier either and we dont own really sad books Perhaps I dont want to own sad books. I dont like to feel sad pain and since I already have 2 grown girls, I know how fast they grow and how they are forever my babies, even if they are almost 21.

There is something I will share, and its just something small that struck me 19 years ago, and I have never forgotten it. Maybe it is something that "you had to be there" or maybe it only meant something to me, I dont know, but I shall share. ~ When Nicole was 18 months old, she came down very sick (ended up being pneumonia), and I took her into the ER. It was just her and I as we waited in the waiting room. We sat across from a woman with her daughter. The woman had her arm around her daughter (who appeared to be about 13 y/o) and her daughter was resting her head on her mom while her mom read from a book to her. The woman looked at us and asked if Nicole was my only child. I told her that no she was a twin. I will always remember the way the woman looked at her daughter, so lovingly, and said that she loved and enjoyed her daughter so much and that she wished she was a twin so she could have two of her. For some reason, maybe because I could see/feel the love she had for her own "baby" but that memory has stuck with me forever and has always inspired me to treasure every second with my kids as one day they will grow up and I will wish they were small again and I will wish I could cuddle and read to them, just as that woman was doing even though her daughter was a young teenager. It also made me know that no matter how old my children got, that they would always be my babies forever

I have Love You Forever and Someday. My friend gave me Someday when I got home from the hospital after having Sydney --- I couldn't even get through it. I'm usually not a crier either. I chalked it up to the hormones

I have a few that I like. I have I Love You Through and Through, On the Night That You Were Born and Mommy's Kisses. None of these books are really sad though. OTNTYWB certainly brings a tear to my eye, but only happy tears.

I've never heard of Someday...but I had wanted to pick up Love You Forever I think. I think that one is part of the same series as I Love You Through and Through.

Aww...Tyla, I've got pregnancy hormones, and I'm in tears now. That's so sweet.

I started reading Love you Forever to my son when he was maybe 2 or so....I would cry every time. Now that he's almost 17 and bigger than I am, it just makes me so sad. Sometimes when I'm watching the boys playing it just hits me so hard how fast it all goes. It seems like just yesterday...literally...that Rodney was that small. Wish I had realized back then how quickly it would pass...
