Have any of the crazy tornado weather affected the areas where you live? Luckily we have been Ok in Chicago. It's so sad to watch the news these days.

I have some family in Joplin, but they're ok. Also have alot of friends and family in Oklahoma but none of them have suffered much damage. I saw the storm cell that swept through Joplin, and I knew it was gonna be a doozy because it was the biggest I've ever seen.

I live pretty close to the last round of tornadoes that ripped through central Oklahoma. We were not harmed but did have to go into the shelter when the alarms sounded. It has been so heart breaking to watch the news showing the homes that are nothing but a foundation and to hear the stories about the families who have lost their children. I don't know if everyone has the same coverage as us, but one family has been torn apart. A woman had her three children, 7, 3, and 18 months with her in their bathtub (which is where you're supposed to go if you don't have a shelter) when the tornado hit. Her two youngest children were sucked out of their home. The 3yo was just found yesterday. The 7yo is the only child who survived. I simply cannot imagine her grief. Please pray for them!

When we were looking for houses, all my Mom ever asked about was "does it have a storm shelter?" It wasn't a big deal to me at the time, though the house we bought does have one. After the last few weeks, I realize that she was right...I would never live in this part of the country without one. The story of that family with the 3 children, 2 of whom didn't survive, is so heartbreaking. I cannot imagine how that mother felt knowing she couldn't keep her babies safe no matter how hard she tried.

We've been getting the bad storms, I have a sister in law that lives in OK, but they are ok, then the ones that hit in AR, is only 30-45 minutes away, it passed over our house with strong rotation, but didn't drop a tornado my heart breaks for everyone that has been in the line of these storms

Just awful! I have in-laws out in OK city and everyone was fine, thank God. We are getting some weirdness right now but I don't think there are any naders. I need to check the weather channel though to be sure.

We have been having bad storms and small tornado warnings. But we really don't get them around here much. It's it so sad all those horrible stories, I feel so bad for those people.
