Am I the only person who stresses about making food for my LO plus dinner for my DH and I? I know a lot of you feed your babies the food that you have for dinner, but I feed my LO around 4 or 5pm and I'm not even close to having our dinner ready at that time. My DH gets home late, sometimes 6 or 7 and there's a lot of nights that he makes dinner while I get LO ready for bed. Even though I need a break from the baby, I'm too exhausted to cook a dinner so I elect to continue taking care of the baby at night. I just cant seem to do it all.

It was so much easier when all I had to do was open a jar of baby food, but now that he is into finger foods I'm constantly steaming veggies and just trying to cook anything I can think of that might work as a finger food. Then most of it lands in the high chair instead of my LO's mouth. Lately I have been in the kitchen during both my LO's naps and I feel like I never get a break. I'm constantly cleaning the high chair and washing the same pots & pans over and over again. (yes I do have a dishwasher) but I know I am going to need the same pans again for something else and cant wait for the dishwasher.

maybe you could save some of your dinner from the previous night on a little plate so he can have it the next day, at least it would take care of one meal

I know how you feel, it is the same way at our house. I just make dinner a bit early and feed the baby. Then when everyone else is ready to eat I just heat it up. It can be overwhelming after working all day and trying to fit everything in at night. Bree had a good idea, save some left over so that the LO's dinner is already prepared.

As far as nutrition, it goes like this: fresh is best, frozen is a close second, and canned is blech. Would it be easier on you if you could heat up frozen veggies and things like that to save time?
I'm not much help because my little guy wants dinner before 6, and DH and I don't manage to eat our own dinner till after 7 when he goes to bed.
