I just had this huge post and deleted it by accident. That's how my day has been going.

Anyway, to make a long story short I don't have a babysitter when I go back to work in August. My neighbour, who was going to watch them for me, has just told me that her DH got a transfer to Australia and they are leaving in Aug.
AAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I've been calling everyone and their uncle trying to find someone who has space. So frustrating!!!

oh no I know childcare can be really hard to find! Is hiring someone to come to your home an option? you might have better luck finding a nanny looking for work.

If you move to Barrie, I will watch them for you

Ahhhhh Bree....that would be wonderful. I'll keep that in mind.

My problem is that I need to leave for work at 6:30am and most caregivers don't start until 7 or 7:30am. I know it's a long day but I'm stuck to the GO train schdule and it really doesn't run very often. Plus someone will have to be close by to walk Isabelle to school and there really aren't to many people available in my area. Oh and the places like WeeWatch charge a mortgage payment and some are too far for me to make the train in time.

A nanny would be nice, but I can't afford one and we don't have a spare bedroom for a live in. Live out nannies are just too much.

have you tried Kijiji? maybe if you post an add about looking for a home day care in your area someone will have space for them

or you could just start knocking on your neighbours doors until someone agrees

I couldnt imagine trying to find child care on a few months notice, no fun at all

I feel your pain. We had a sitter all lined up and then she decided to go back to work two weeks before my maternity leave was over. It is not fun trying to find day care with two weeks notice. I've got my fingers crossed for you! Happy hunting!

Bree I've been looking through Kijiji and through Flower City Mom and other sites. I've called agencies and asked others to ask around. Sigh! Well, I still have 2 months and I'm sure it will all work out.
I'm just so upset that my neighbour is leaving. She is so great with kids and they all love her and she's right across the street from me. Such a bummer!

That really stinks Trish. I had the same problem finding space for Tommy when I had to go back to work it was awful and they do charge an awful lot ofmoney..it is frustrating. I hope you can find something soon.
