I'm totally a brand person. I'm loyal to a brand if I like it and don't change. HOWEVER, we are looking at our options for cutting costs in every area right now. One thing I came across was the generic diapers...the Target generic diapers are $15/less for the amount I normally buy in Pampers Cruisers. The cruisers are causing a rash on hisw back from cruising so much....so my question is...has anyone tried the Target brand and did you like them...dislike them?

I have used Targets brand before, they work pretty well. I didnt have any specific complaints but the price. Sometimes they have a really good sale though. Usually i just use Dollar Generals brand, they are cheapest around here. Sometimes CVS will have a big box of diapers for $10, i grab them when they are cheap like that.

I really like the Wal Mart Parents Choice. I switch between them and Pampers Snug and Dry and I don't really see too much of a difference. You can get a 20 pack of Parents Choice for $3.69 at my Walmart

Another option is Kirkland (Costco) diapers. I started using those when I don't use cloth. They are great (and cute) lol
I think it's 232 Diapers for $35. (Well for Size 3)

Ive always been a Huggies mom, so the only "cheap" diaper we have got was luvs. I got them for an AWESOME price so I couldnt pass them up. They are "ok". I havent had any leakes with them but I dont use them much to give an all the time recommendation. I've never tried Target brand.

When we were using disposables I got to where I only bought the Walmart brand diapers. They were so much cheaper and were the best store brand diaper I tried. I had no complaints with them at all.

I like Targets diapers. Ocassionally we will get a pack that smell weird after they get pee in them, but overall, a good choice as far as the price.

Have you looked into Amazon Mom? you can get 30% off with subscribe and save.
I was a brand person too but we had to switch to cloth as Ashton got an awful chemical burn from pampers with dry max
You could also look at Pampers BabyDry they don't contain dry max and are cheaper than the cruizers.
I haven't tried the Target brand but know a few people who swear by them.
Luvs I have never used either but I just read a thread in the June 10 PR last week? that Luvs have changed their diapers and the new ones aren't as good.
I used to use Kirkland with DD they are comparable IMO to huggies.
Stay away from the Safeway Mom 2 Mom brand they are awful!

Has anyone else had problems with bad diaper rash from the cheap diapers? We bought a big deal of the parents choice from walmart, and Jr started getting a bad rash....I started changing him, more and more frequently to try to get rid of the rash. We were going through a ton of diapers (so it really wasn't much cheaper), and we still had the rash until we went back to Huggies. It cleared up immediately when we switched back. Carlos said for me not to buy anything buy Huggies anymore. Just wondered if anyone else has had this problem...

Tam- Ethan got a horrible rash from the Dry Max, too! When I buy Pampers I always buy the Baby Dry.
However, I mainly use the Target brand. I don't have any complaints & have used them on both kids. They keep Avery dry over night, too. Like Shannon, I didn't like the Luvs at all. They seemed really papery & felt rough on the inside. The Kirkland are also good. I used to use them for Ethan, but just don't get to Costco enough to exclusively use them. I think that they are made by Huggies for Costco.

Oh yeah I should probably add that Huggies manufactures Kirkland (Costco) diapers so the Costco diapers *ARE* Huggies. That's another reason why they no longer sell Pampers there!

You could always go to cloth! It really is a money saver and not nearly as hard as it seems at first. Eli is our first baby that we're using cloth on, but I wish we'd used it for all of our babies. You can get 12 Sunbaby diapers for only $60.

Even CDing 1/2 of the time would save money. I am afraid to use cloth at night and when we're out in public for all day (I have done it before but it just makes me wayy nervous) but I have had my box of diapers since February at least and still have a TON left.

Interestingly, the only diapers we've found that HAVEN'T worked for us are the Target generics and Luvs. That said, I think it totally depends on the baby. I have a sister whose kids leak out of everything BUT Luvs, so clearly our kids have differently shaped bums.

We've never used Target's store brand but have had good experience with the Parent's Choice.
We get coupons in the mail from WinnDixie baby club for $3 off any brand, so we buy their store brand premium diapers for ~$4 a Jumbo pack (we also cloth diaper so they last a while).

I was afraid to try cloth at night too, but Tiffany got me started on ME Sandys with a Bummis Super Brite cover and, I swear to you, I've never had a leak! Eli has a big bum when he goes to bed, but that cover keeps everything in. Oh, I also use a stay dry liner, so he won't feel soaking wet on his skin while he sleeps. I then got even more brave and tried an Econobums cover instead of the Super Brites and they worked just as well!

I agree with Stacey I'd go for cd we've saved so much from using them and have had very few rashes. and it is a lot less expensive start up than people think and not that hard.

I have some friends who have used Target and Parents Choice and liked them. I've only ever tried PC with Leah and she broke out in a rash so I've never tried anything other than Pampers.
Are you an Amazon Mom member? You can get a huge box of Pampers for like $28 and often there is a $1.50 coupon. And you get them shipped to you for free within 2 days and don't pay tax.
