Poor Daniel

I took him to the doctor again today. He had breathing issues the Thursday before Memorial Day and he had to go to the hospital overnight. Since then he's been on a daily nebulizer treatment of pulmicort and albuterol as needed. He has needed albuterol everyday (more often than not, 2 times each day). The past two days he has needed it every 4 hours (even overnight). So I took him in and he is just pitiful.

First they changed his dosage of pulmicort to 2 times each day, gave him oral steriods and changed his albuterol to xopenex. Then they said he has excema so they gave me a topical ointment for that. They also said to give him zytec for his allergies. My poor over medicated boy. I'm not giving it all to him right now though. I'm hoping the neb treatments help him and I don't have to do the oral steriods.

Awww poor Daniel. We dealt with breathng issues with Caden at that age. He now has severe asthma. I hate, hate, hate breathing issues in kids/babies. I hope he gets better soon!

:-( I'm so sorry. I bet you'll love the Xopenex, though. I really think it's SO much better than Albuterol. That's what my oldest was on when she was a baby and we didn't have all the nasty side effects. Sorry about the excema too. My niece has to use the topical steroids but my sister is going to try CJ's Butter too. They say it's really good for excema and my sister hates for my niece to be on the steroids. You could also try Cetaphil (in the tub that's a cream, not the lotion). It works wonders on my daughter's excema. I hope your little Daniel grows out of his breathing issues. My girl did right about when she turned 5 and it was such a relief!

Aww poor baby. That was Luca's first 8 months of life basically. He was given an official asthma diagnosis in April based on his medical history and was put on a preventative inhaler that he has daily. We've had no issues since then and he hasn't needed ventalin (the nebuliser) since. Hope he gets better soon, it's so hard seeing them sick.
