Who is or has done it already? I'm trying to get him used to the idea this month because he's almost 1 (on the 26th!). He hates it. So I'm reading I can start mixing a little bit in at a time with his formula. He's so picky he won't drink water, he doesn't want a sippy cup (even with formula), and he has yet to try anything else. And he HATES the whole milk whether it be warm, room temperature, or cold.

HELP!

My daughter will sip a bit of milk, and if she is eating and thirsty (especially after peanut butter lol) and I give her a sippy of milk she will drink a good amount. She loves water so that's not a problem for us.

I've also tried doing 2 oz of milk and 4 oz of formula in her bottle and she will drink that no problem. But because she drinks it seperately too I've stopped mixing them. I would try mixing them if I were you, that might get him used to the taste.

I know some people just stop formula/bottles abruptly, and just give them milk in sippys. I'm trying to do it gradually but if she is past one and still wanting a lot of bottles then I might just make the switch and see what happens.

Sydney used to have 4 bottles a day with formula. Just over the last 2 weeks I've cut out 2 and completely replaced them with sippy cups of whole milk. she loves milk so it hasn't been an issue.

My question is am I supposed to keep giving her the same amount of milk as I was formula? For ex, she was getting about about 24oz of formula a day. She is now down to 12 oz of formula and 2 sippy cups of milk (these are with lunch and dinner). When she transitions completely over to whole milk, do I keep it at about 24oz a day?

I'm pretty sure I read that at 12months they should be having like, 500ml of whole milk per day. Which is like, 2 bottles so maybe 16ish ounces???

I'm no help Liz. I haven't even really thought about heading down that road yet mostly because we don't have whole milk in the house ever. I have put my skinny milk on his cereal though and he likes it so I don't think switching will be a drama for us. We will probably do it abruptly between 12 - 18 months.

Desi has been on full milk for about a few weeks. I started by doing half formula and half milk for a week until the formula was gone. then the following week took her to daycare with a sippy and striaght milk and she did great! I have been giving her milk like i was with formula. i too dont know how much she should be getting.

He eats breakfast, lunch, and dinner. He eats pretty good but I'd say that 60% of his nutrition still comes from the formula. We give him a snack twice a a day too!

That is alot of formula! Well London will be one on the 24th of this month and she is almost off. I have just been mixing her formula with whole milk. I started out half and half for two weeks. This next two weeks Im doing 1/4 formula and the rest whole milk. She will be on full whole milk by one. Normally London only gets 3/ 6 oz of formula/milk combo a day and the rest is table food, juice and water.
