I can't believe I am posting this already...where has the year gone? Claire is less than a month away from her birthday, so I have been thinking about when/how to introduce cow's milk? Those of you who have older kids, what did you do? Any suggestions?

I mixed an ounce of milk with formula or bm for a few days to see how dd would tolerate the milk, then gradually kept adding more milk after she tolerated it well.

I did the same thing as Kristy because my DD was formula fed.

I guess with Nathan being breast fed with the occasional bottle, I will just start giving him milk in a sippy cup and see how much he takes that way. if he doesn't get enough I will have to give it to him in a bottle though, I suppose.

I gave an ounce here and there through out the day starting around 11 1/2 months. Nothing to satisfy but basically a taste tester. Both my older boys tolerated it just fine and I'm going to assume Bishop will too. For awhile my oldest around 2 didn't, he was on lactaid milk but drinks regular just fine now.

Omair has had tiny bits of it here and there since he wants everything anyone else is having. He's also tolerating yogurt and cheese okay now so I don't see any problem with him having it, even now really. But, I'm not going to be replacing water or formula with milk for quite some time though. I'll probably put him on Enfagrow after 12 months since I'm not bf'ing, and cow's milk doesn't provide any kind of brain-growing nutrients.

Kristy - My DD was allergic to dairy and on Soy until she was about 18 months. I would provide Soy milk to the daycare once she was 15 month to give to her. As long as she gets other nutritious foods Soy milk is totally fine.

I think I will start Miranda once she turns 11 months. I will do half & half of formula and milk and see how she likes it. She's had yoghurt and cheese and ice cream, so I know she's can tolerate it.

I have a lot of lactoce issues so I am scared to give her whole milk but shes had cheese and yogurt and ice cream like miranda and she has never reacted to it. I can't wait to feed her whole milk tho because she refuses any type of formula milk and only takes BM that is slowly draining

Claire loves cheese and yogurt and cottage cheese, so I'm thinking she'll be fine. I mixed half milk and half formula today for her afternoon bottle, and she didn't seem to notice!
