If you plan on participating in the birthday exchange you need to vote in this poll.
If you vote no, you can explain why but please say what you would want to see for the over all price range.
If you vote yes, I need you to comment with your price range ideas.
I need you all to vote if you're going to take part. I will then put up a poll with the price range ideas listed. We need to get the ball rolling on this asap!

I think $20 should be the limit, including shipping.

I agree with Lori. About $20 sounds good to me.

It might be difficult to include shipping in $20

quick question, for canadians if we have to ship to the US are we still required to get tracking? because tracking itself from canada to the US could cost 15-20 dollars or more depending on how heavy the package is. I want to participate but I cant afford that....

if we dont need tracking it will be 5-10 dollars to send to the US, and probably about the same to ship within canada

I don't think tracking is at all necessary. I ship to friends in Canada regularly, and it's usually not much if you use the post office (not UPS or Fedex), and keep the package as light and small as you can. The only downside is shipping to Canada from the US seems to take up to several weeks. Not sure why, as my stuff to Pakistan ships faster than to Canada. Go figure.
I do think we're all having the best intentions with the gifts, and think the $20 limit should be a flexible one. If someone lives in the US and can't afford a $20 gift plus the shipping I don't think there's anything wrong with something less expensive as a gift option.

ya its crazy isnt it? The crappy part is that we get charged 5-7 dollars to send something to the US, if someone in the US was to ship the same item back to canada they would only pay 2-3 dollars, canada post sucks!

This is why I created this post to get all your guy's ideas
I know here we have the flat rate shipping if it fits in the box it sends for a certain price. I'm not sure of the price though.
If we don't want tracking thats totally fine. Especially if it will end up costing some of our members the same price as what we're looking at to send.
Also remember hand/homemade gifts are totally fine!
We want to make sure this is what you guys want and the best options for you

that's what I thought. if we do a $20 limit, that leaves $10-15 for the gift and the rest for shipping. I think that's reasonable.

I do want to point out, the limit could be $20 but you don't have to spend $20. You could make it or you could buy a few things and come under the limit.

I think 25 would be a good limit. This would include shipping.

i like the idea of two price ranges, didn't we do that for the exchange before the little ones were born?
i like 15-20 and 35-40...but i seem to be in the minority.

Sara, I believe we did do 2 price categories for the shower. I think they were between 15-20 or 25-30. I like the idea of 2 price ranges.
