So I return to work on Monday June 27th. I have mixed feelings. I could use a bit of a break from how hard it is to be a SAHM (kudos to my SAHMs), but I will miss them dearly. I don't want their little personalities to change based on who is caring for them. My Mom is amazing though, so I have to stop worrying. She is watching my niece, nephew, and my 2 kids. They are 3, 2, 2.5 and almost 1!!

Anyhow. I am glad that my work day is 7am-3:30 so that I can have some time with the kids after work before the hussle and bussle of dinner, bath and bed rountines. Just curious how everyone's' transition was. Any tips for my return to work?

No tips, but I think it is wonderful that your mom is able to watch them, best wishes.

Try to get as much ready the night before. I hate rushing around in the morning trying to get everything ready for the next day.

Plan out meals as much as you can; I find myself digging through the freezer at 4:30 on a random Wednesday afternoon trying to find something reasonable to feed myself & the kiddos.

Create a "house work" plan with your DH. I worked after Ethan, but 2 was a whole new challenge to getting house work done. Laundry is my cryptonite.

Give yourself 15 mins after the kids are in bed to just sit on your butt... Mama's need to decompress, too.

Good Luck!!!

DItto what Amanda said! Doing as much as you can the night before is a must! It is definately harder working and trying to take care of the house when you have two, but its doable! Also I love your work schedule. I think the early the better. I just changed my schedule to being at work at 6:30am so that I could get off earlier and it was difficult to adjust to at first (I was working 8-5) but I love it now! GL and keep us posted!

Could you drop him off with your mom for a couple of half days this week and next so that he gets used to it?

I WFH mostly so I don't have a lot of advice. There have been 4 weeks when I had to go into an office. The first, Juliana was 11 weeks old and I was miserable every minute! She was 7 months old for the second, and I was fine until about 5 pm and then I got very antsy to leave. The 3rd, at 8 months, I was mostly fine and the 4th, at 9 months, it was like a much-needed break. I really didn't expect it to be fun but I enjoyed being in the office with adults having normal conversation. I think the hardest part will be getting out the door.

Good luck. I don't go back until September. I think I'll be ready by then.
