I just got an e-mail from a family member asking what to get Caleb for his Birthday. I have no idea. He doesn't need clothes or toys....what else is there?

How are you answering this question?

Books? And I would say clothes, except I would say 2T or above! And maybe some "older" toys as well.

I'm telling our friends books. Aaron loves being read to and my husband is going toy crazy right now so Aaron doesn't need any more of those and our moms send so many clothes I don't know what to do with half of them.

MONEY!!! hahaha I'm kidding...seriously though I have been saying gift cards to Target or Walmart, if they asked. We only invited close friends and family so I didn' think that was bad.

books. That's pretty much it. We will be away and have no room in suitcases to bring anything back.

We only have close family coming to his party: my parents, dh's dad & stepmom and my 2 siblings & their kids. (unfortunately for us, most of our family members have passed away in the last few years or else live across country) Dh's dad will get him something stupid like cheap ugly clothes or something totally useless, my mom always buys great useable (that I request) clothes! Love em! My dad will get him a fun toy that I also request, my brother is poor so will just bring himself and his daughter and my sister will get Ty fun toys. Its pretty simple here.

I also would suggest books if I was you, or perhaps the older toys and bigger clothes idea too.

Maggie got a few toys, clothes, wooden picture puzzles, and her big gifts were a toy box that Grandpa made and a pool from great grandma. The party was small so, things were pretty contained. Mommy and Daddy were the ones to spoil her the most in terms of quantity. We gave her a couple of toys and lots of books.
