How warm would it have to be for your to take your baby swimming?

Our neighborhood pool has been open since Memorial Day, but sadly, we've had only one day over 80 degrees so we've only been once. This weekend's forecast is a high of 61 and 65, which I think is too low. The highest it's forecasted to get over the next 10 days is 75. Is 75 too cold? I can't believe this crappy weather?

The pool is heated and less than 1/4 of a mile from our house so I can have her bundled up and home quickly. Still, I know babies get chilled easily.

Just wanted to say I'm jealous of your temps.....we've been around 100 everyday for weeks now
But if the pool is heated you should be fine. If she shivers or isn't enjoying it, just take her home. I'm sure she will let you know if she isn't comfortable.

We're in the same boat Mariah. I was going to wait a few more weeks for the warm weather to heat the water up a little bit. When we were taking swimming class, she would even get cold in the heated pool sometimes....so that's the only reason I worry.

We did order her a baby pool from One Step Ahead.
Li'l Squirt Baby Pool, Sprinkler and First Pool

I was going to try that as soon as it came in, since it's not a LOT of water...just her sitting in it. Let me know how it goes, although I bet it's been warmer in Portland than here!

Mariah: Since it is heated, i would give it a try. Like ppl said before, if she is shivering bad you can always leave.

Holly: When we got Samantha her first pool, lol, i put warm water and baby bath for bubbles in it. Lol. It was more like a bath.

My hubby has taken my daughter to our heated pool when the temp was even in the low 70s...that seems cold to me, but he says she was just fine. She loves the pool!
