So I want to have another child. Sophia is my first and my reproductive years are ending (I am close to 40- next year is the big one!). On the one hand I definitely want another child but on the other hand I don't know how I will do it, if I am as nauseous again as I was w/ her. It was 6 month of throwing up every day. And food smells in the mornings.... Bah! And then I had the dropping uterus that really hurt and I wasn't supposed to lift anything heavy. It got better now but I think it will come back. Oh yeah, and I was sleeping A LOT. I was soooo tired.

My question is to you pregos and BTDT moms: How is/did it working to be pregnant and having a baby? Are/were you nauseous? Or was the first pregnancy very different from the second one? I talked to some friends and they said "You will figure it out." I know other moms do it. I guess I am scared of what will happen w/ me again and worried that I won't be able to take care of Sophia.

Any stories to share? Or words of encouragement? Thanks!

I am one of those lucky women who don't get morning sickness but I become super super tired. Oh and I have horrible SPD and it got worse with each pregnancy. Walking, sitting, standing just hurt so bad.

When I was pregnant with my 2nd, my energy was drained and my oldest and I took a lot of naps together. When Dane came, it took us awhile to adjust we found our groove.

Then Bishop surprised us and again I became very very tired except by that time I had one who wouldn't nap and one who would. So I was a very exhausted mama. I was also under a lot of stress.

It's hard to say how it's going to be. My pregnancies were very similar thankfully minus the SPD. We made it though. I did get extra help from my husband when I just couldn't do it anymore. When my hips hurt so bad that I was crying just sitting there or when I needed a nap, he was so helpful in saying to me to go lay down.

I wouldn't change any of it though because I love the 3 boys I have I would go through the pain again to have the same outcome. I know when we go for our 4th, it's going to be the same and I'll have 3 kids on top of it but thankfully we're planning to only have one at home during the days (bishop) and the others in school.

We don't know what will happen, we just kinda have to jump in and hope for the best. *hugs* I hope I helped some.

With my dd who is my first, I had ms until the day I gave birth. It was awful, everything made me sick. I was tired all day, just like you. My second was much different, I had some ms which would come and go. But it wasn't nearly as bad as my first. I think every pregnancy is different. Plus the second time around the pregnancy flew by, since I had to take care off dd.

So far they have been pretty similar. With this one though I think I had more nausea. I am extremely tired and can't always sleep when DD sleeps because there are certain things I need to get done.

I have gained more this time around then with her but other then that its all been similar. And if it is different I don't really notice since half the time I don't really get a chance to enjoy it unless I am laying down at night trying to sleep.

I don't have any advice, but just wanted to say I know what you mean about getting up there in age. I am going to TTC in the next few months but I wish I could wait longer and I am not sure how I will handle a toddler plus new baby. I was lucky enough not to have ms but I always hear that every pregnancy is different so you really can't predict what will happen. Good luck with whatever you decide! Do you have any family close by that could help out if you didn't feel well?

Well, all of my pregnancies were the same and not the same in certain aspects. I did get the morning sickness with each, but I took Diclectin to help with the nausea. I don't think I could have functioned without the meds. Yes I was more tired because I had other kids to deal with but on the other hand the pregnancies went by faster because I was busy. You don't really have the luxury to take much time for yourself, unless you have a wonderful DH who helps out and lets you take your naps. I was lucky that I wasn't restricted as far as lifting, so I can imagine that being hard with a little one. All my kids were about 4 years apart, which helped a lot.
Your second pregnancy could be very different from your first one, you just never know. Good luck deciding!

So far, and it's still early in my pregnancy, I have been tired and because of that, lazy. Orion is really mobile and gets into everything all the time. Baby gates have become a great friend to help keep Orion at bay. But I'm totally tired, and yes, nauseous. I also had SPD in my first pregnancy, so I am tryin to keep really active and not be as lazy as I was the first time-- maybe that will help with my hips/pelvis.
