I know for babies you aren't supposed to have anything in the crib (blankets, toys, etc.), but what about now that they are older? I still have her mesh bumpers on so she doesn't get her legs tangled...is it okay to have a stuffed animal or light blanket in the crib? I have been letting her have both, but then I freak out that I'm doing something wrong. What do you do?

i just put Liam to bed
right now in his bed hes got a receiving blanket that is on him (or at least it was when i put him to bed, usually ends up cuddling it instead)
and at the end where his feet are, jammed in the corner i have glo worm and a mickey mouse head attached to a tiny blanket - so when he wakes up at 6am they will buy him maybe another five minutes of me time before he decides to go full blast
i would assume as long as its not something they can get tangled in they should be fine

Exactly. She'll wake up and play with her teddy bear for probably 20-30 minutes in the morning, and I NEED that time!!

My has a elephant and a blankie her pacifier and one other toy that came off her carseat that makes music. She also plays with these before screaming for someone to come to her rescue lol

I put a blanket over Holden at night, and have since he was born. I only put it up to his tummy so his legs are covered.

Nathan has a knit blanket now. before he had absolutely nothing, but he's old enough and mobile enough now that I think he's fine with his blanket. even if it covered his face, there are holes in it.

I was always careful about not putting things in the crib until about 2 weeks ago. I am having lots of night waking issues with Joey and one of the solutions I read about was to get him attached to a lovey. So I put a musical seahorse (similar to glow worm) in his crib. Also he has this weird habit of grabbing my shirt when I rock him to sleep so I have been putting a light cotton blanket on him that he ends up cuddling with in his crib.

I think you are not supposed to put anything in the crib until they are 1 but I have a glow worm, glow sea horse and a light knitted blanket for him. He cuddles the blanket and the holes are so big that air flows through.
Though, he does wrap it around his head and it makes me nervous!

Ross has some stuffed toys at the foot of his crib, when he wakes up in the AM he will play with them instead of screaming right away. No blankets or pillows yet though

Kinley has a light blanket and one stuffed annual that she cuddles with... but she usually only sleeps in her crib for a couple of hours anyway.

I have always used a knit blanket in Tommy's crib. I've been wanting to let him have some toys in his crib for the mornings when he gets up so I can sleep in, I just wasn't sure that is was safe. I would love an extra few hrs of sleep.

Brendan has a small stuffed lion that plays music at the foot of his crib and I recently started giving him a light blanket because the AC makes his room chilly. He usually ends up cuddling with the blanket instead of covering his fett, and he likes to play with the lion when he wakes up in the morning.
I've only been doing this for 3-4 weeks and it's been fine. Like everyone else said, I think because they are mobile now it should be ok.

Thanks, ladies! I was thinking she'd be fine, but I just needed some reassurance.

Her quilt that came with the set is folded and at the "bottom" of the crib. She has her blanket that I cover her with but she cuddles with more then anything. And then she has a wind up giraffe that she has had from the start. as well as some teddy bear and some security type small blanket with bunny head. And her bumpers are still in there.
She plays with the stuff in the morning if she is in a good mood...lol She sticks her feet under the quilt most nights or she will flip and use it like a pillow.

Alivia sleeps with a cuddly security blanket (it's one of those blankets with the teddy bear head attached to it) and she has her Violette puppy dog in there that plays music.

You don't want anything in the crib that they can climb on and be high enough to fall out. Having a small toy and a light blanket is fine. You can also get toys that attach to the side of the crib, like a cloth piano. That should keep her entertained.
Miranda has a soft teddy in the crib to sleep with and she uses a sleep sack, so no blanket and I have a toy attached to the side of the crib. We've moved the crib bottom all the way down a while back cause I knew that sooner than later she'd be standing.

great question, I was wondering the same thing! I have a few toys in there along with a blankie with a head attached for now. Oh, and she sleeps on an actual pillow since day 1.
