Why is EVERYONE dressing their girls in tutus?

Tutus are too frilly. I mean, over the top frilly.

Its such a fad right now.

These pics are going to be SO dated in a few years.

Every time I walk into Costco I'm assaulted by tables of tutus. Where are the normal clothes?

Seriously, ever other pic I look at is of a little girl wearing a tutu.

Arielle isn't getting a tutu.

But...they are sorta cute. She would look cute in one.

How come everyone else has one and she doesn't??? That's not fair!

Am I a bad mommy that she dosen't have a tutu?

I'm a bad mom. I am.

She deserves a tutu like any other little girl.

Tutu: Purchased

LOL, I think it's funny that you call it a fad right now because one of my close friend's daughter's is almost 4 1/2 and she had a tutu at her 1st birthday too!

P.S. - Now you need a pettiskirt, haha

LOL. My mom buys Juliana, her only grandchild, everything under the sun. Of course, she bought her a tutu. DH saw it and said "It looks like someone took some ugly curtains and put them in the blender."

LMAO!!! Yeah, hubby saw the one I bought (its actually not that bad, not really a tutu-tutu, more like a skirt-tutu) and just rolled his eyes. I couldn't blame him. But now I'm excited to put it on her anyway.

I will def. take pics but I'm not sure if it'll fit her yet...its size 2-3.

My oldest loves tutus....I've always made her's, but I just recently had Kaileigh's made to match her birthday colors. I just got it in the mail yesterday and she looks so cute in it. I think tutu's are just something fun to play dress up in. Heck if I could wear a tutu and feel like a princess I would....lol

oh but to go with what Holly said, i definitely prefer pettis. we have them in every color (but they are all a bit too long for kenna) i suck at making pettis, i tried and failed and had 3748392741094619 yards of ruffled chiffon that looked like shi t now tutus...i can make. but i'm picky. i don't like the basic kind, i like very full and fluffy like my siggy

Seema, this cracked me up. If I had a girl I'm sure I would be thinking the same thing. But as a mom of a boy (which I think really suits me better) I really don't get the appeal of all the tutus and bows and things. I really can't see myself ever dressing a daughter in all that stuff. I'll go on record as saying that and if I end up doing this with a future DD (that DH says we're never going to have) y'all can say I told you so.

Haha, that is how i was. I was like, "Why do ppl dress their dd's up in frilly dresses just to go to walmart?" I vowed to never do that....lol. Well i do it a lot! No tutu's here yet, but i want some! Lol. I also never understood when ppl dressed twins in matching outfits. Lol. My girls are 2 yrs apart and i do that a lot, too. Lol

Never say never.

i LOVE to dress S and M alike! i don't usually do matching identical but more like coordinating. I love to buy them the same dress/outfit only in a different color or pattern.

IF I can find matching I buy them matching outfits. Although it's pretty hard now that Kaitlyn is in big kids clothes not toddlers, so if I dont find exact matching, I dress them in the same colors.
