Now that I have a kid, I am such a Scrooge. This is night #3 of living in a war zone. Practically our whole street is blowing off fireworks...no make that our whole neighborhood. Try getting a kid to sleep/stay asleep with bombs exploding every few seconds. These fireworks seriously look like the kinds you see in shows...but they are in my front drive. I am trying to be a good sport but it's getting old. Tomorrow night will be the worst. Last night they went on past midnight.

Anyone else?

Yeah, it annoys me too. Not that I wasn't setting off fireworks past midnight on the 4th not that long ago. But now I just keep thinking "These *&$%& kids!!!".

Same here... even with a ban on fireworks. I was so hopeful for this year too! Our neighbors always shoot their fireworks off in our direction and some of them are dangerously defective. I had my first brush with one 5 yrs ago, when a bottle rocket shot past me and my DD.

If you had asked me last year or the year before, i would have ganged up with you. Living in that trailer park sucked from June 1st-July 10th or so. I had 2 yrs of trying to get Samantha to sleep and keep our two dogs from barking, then last year it was Samantha (who was excited about them) and Charlotte and the dogs. Ugh. Went on til like 3 am. We called the cops numerou times but they didnt seem to care, as soon as they were gone the fireworks stsrted back up.

Now this year, we live out in the country. We can still sort of hear them, but they are not loud enough to keep anyone awake & now we just have 1 dog in the house and she's pretty good about keeping quiet. And they didnt start until this weekend, not the beginning of June.

It hasn't been too bad for us lately as far as Vincent losing sleep from it but they just made it legal to sell and let off any size fireworks you want here so people are going crazy. You used to only be able to do the smaller ones and it wasn't too bad but now people are doing big ones and my MIL said they've been doing them here for like 3 weeks. People must be spending tons of money on them and that's such a waste, IMO. I just don't get it. Plus, they can be pretty dangerous when people get stupid or careless.

LOL, I was out with my youth group until about 10 shooting fireworks. My Lil Buddy can't stand them. He is always so frightened, but thankfully it is only a few days and everything goes back to normal. I do remember the first year that Sarah Beth was home and the fireworks were SOooo loud and annoying. I don't know if it has gotten better, or I've just gotten used to it.

I personally don't like fireworks. With my PTSD I freak out.. even though it's not combat related. I'm not sure why, but the loud bangs really bother me.
