Has anyone's LO started to drop their 1st morning nap? My LO just turned 10 months old so he is a bit younger than some of yours. He is still taking his morning nap but there has been a few times that we skipped it recently because he wouldn't settle down, usually because he slept in late on those mornings.

For those who have older children, does the afternoon nap really get longer once the morning nap is gone? Right now my LO only sleeps an hour and a half in the afternoon. The days he skipped the am nap were really tough on me because it feels like there is no break. Part of me is sad to see the morning nap go because I look forward to having this free time, then part of me is looking forward to being able to go out more.

were down to 1 nap most days its been this way for about a month, he was napping twice at 9 and 1 (for a total of 3 hours or so) and now hes usually going down for nap between 10:30 and 11, and he sleeps for about 2-2.5 hours. So overall hes napping less, but hes also going to bed about 30 minutes earlier than he was when he was napping twice and sleeping in later than he did before, so i think hes probably getting the same amount of sleep he was before, just re arranged

at first i was pretty peeved about it, because the first week it felt like i really had no time to just sit or get as much done. But after i got used to it i think i prefer it, it lets us get out to appointments or run an errand in the AM and it lets us go out more during the day, which is nice for my social life

Bea hasn't dropped it, but it and her afternoon nap are both pretty short now.

Rosie has dropped her afternoon nap and its about an hour long sometimes 2 hours. I have been trying to adjust times but its been a fight. keeping her up has been tough too because now she is ready for bed at 5 for a power nap and then wants to stay up all night again.
