My LO has been refusing his pacifier lately. I'm wondering if this means he is weaning himself? He started doing this about 2 weeks ago when he had a cold, so I figured he just needed his mouth to breathe. Now the cold seems to be almost gone but he still has occasional runny nose and congestion. He drinks from his bottles with no problem - he will chug for a long time without needing a break so I don't think it could be a problem with his ears, or could it? He tries to chew on my shirt or a blanket but when I put the pacifier near him he turns away and almost gets upset that I am trying to give it to him. I am hoping this means he is weaning himself so I don't have to go thru the weaning process later.

It sounds like he might be giving it up on his own. I definitely wouldn't push giving it to him I'm jealous! I hope Bishop gives it up easily, I do plan to wean him sooner then we did Dane.

I agree with the rest. Man I wish Rosie would give hers up on her own like that. Sadly I think we will have a struggle

that's good news! he's weaned himself and it will save you the trouble later.

my DD had her soother FAR too long, so I'm glad Nate never really got into it.
