I'm just curious how many ounces of water is your LO having? At London's 12 month appointment the doctor mentioned giving London a total of 16 oz's of water/day. She has been consuming 3 meals and 2 snacks a day. She also has 16 ozs of whole milk/day. I tried to look up on the internet, but can't really find anything.

wow, that seems like a lot. On average Kaileigh gets about 16-18oz milk, 1 cup of 50/50 apple juice water with afternoon snack, and approx 8oz water spread out throughout the day. No way is Kail getting 16oz water. hmm.. I wonder how much everyone else gives...Good question!

I honestly don't know. She pretty much has a water sippy cup going all day with her. I'm guessing it's probably around 15oz though. I fill it for her in the am and then usually fill it once more throughout the day. Some days she drinks more, some days she'll only drink a bit.

Oh wow! I've never heard that but I must be majorly sucking at this parent thing if that's true. Vincent gets maybe a couple ounces a day. He just takes a few sips whenever he eats, which isn't much. He does still get 24 oz. of formula though so I guess maybe he doesn't need much extra water yet. Hopefully when he starts eating more and switches to milk he'll drink more water.

He normally has a sippy of water throughout the day and takes maybe 3 or so ounces out of it but he still gets bottles of water to go down...so maybe 15 total if you include his bottles.

I'm not sure how much Noah gets but I'm guessing around that. Normally he has a water sippy laying around somewhere and drinks at least on cup a day sometimes more.

I'd say we average about 10-12oz of water each day. I haven't switched her to milk yet, so she still gets usually 3 bottles of formula as well. Once Olivia finally figured out the sippy, she decided she loved water and she decreased her formula(though she is still taking plenty) in favor of water.

Maggie is getting at least 8 ozs of water every day. But that's about to be more. She's also getting about 18ozs of milk and about 4-6 ozs of juice. We're dealing with constipation issues ever since moving to milk, so I'll be dialing it back a bit and replacing it with water too. That would bring water intake to 12-16ozs / day.

Honestly, no idea. I fill up his sippy in the morning and on an average day, he might drink half of it. But he's still getting 4 or so bottles/sippies of formula a day.

I'm honestly not sure, she just always has a sippy with her....plus she nurses a lot still so that's a hard one.

None! He has refused to drink from a cup. He still nurses and gets two bottles of whole milk. We'll probably try harder with the cup as he gets closer to a year.

Our doctor didn't mention anything about water, only the 16oz milk.

I think E gets at least that much! He nurses 3 times per day but has a sippy of water with him at all times that I refill fairly regularly. I don't do any juice and honestly my milk supply is getting lower...so water helps keep him hydrated.

Thanks guys for your input. Currently London is getting around 8 oz of water, so when she said 16 I was thinking d a m n that's alot! I normally don't have her carry a sippy cup around or even have it accessible for her. I normally just give it to her when I feel the need. Since she is now 1 I will just make the sippy more accessible.

I'm not really sure how many oz he is getting. I've been offering it more than before though because I noticed that when I would give him his sippy he would drink it so fast like he was super thirsty. He still nurses 4-5 times a day though. So I would say probably like 8 oz of water a day..that's just a guess though

Ethan refuses a sippy or water (whether in a sippy or in a bottle). So none....he gets about 20oz of milk a day though and of course his meals/snacks.
