Is anyone else's lo not pointing? When we look at books, if I ask her "where's the doggie?" she doesn't point to it. When are they supposed to be able to do this? She will reach for pictures if she sees dh and say dada but that's it.

sAaron's not but I think that's our fault. It's not something we've really worked on at all. He didn't pick up clapping until we really started to work with him on it. Are you pointing to things throughout the day? She may just need a little more time to get it.

I was worried about this too. He doesn't point at anything yet either and doesn't say any words.

Kaileigh points to tons of things and just says "that". She can not point to items on command. For example if we say "point to the dog". She has no clue.
Im not even worried about it. She is a baby we got the next year to teach her where a dog is, and Im more then certain she will learn on her own.

Like Kaileigh, Arie is pointing and saying "that" or whatever other gobbly-gook comes out of her mouth, but she won't point if we ask her to point at something. She will just turn to us and smile really wide.

Ty just started pointing at things 2 weeks ago. He points to everything and says "ewwwahhh"
The only words he says are "ought oh" "mama" "hi" "dada" "daddy" and "hi dada" He tries to say Amber but it sounds like "Aaaaaaabuuuuhhh" (all my kids talk super early. they are more mental than physical as babies)

Ditto on the talking...she says a lot but her words aren't clear. Like she says "Da!" for "dog" I swear she said octopus last week a few times repeating it after me. Hubby was there too. But maybe it was just her gobbly-gook. I like to attribute her babbling to words though LOL

I think Sydney may be an early one in this. She's been pointing since she was about 6-7 months old. Constantly pointing. At everyone. everything. anything. She does pick out things as well. if you ask her where the birds are, she'll point to the sky She can even pick out the littlest things in books..almost like a where's waldo skill. Super funny!
With that being said, I'm sure all babies develop differently with this. My friend has a baby only 3 weeks younger -- not pointing at all yet.

Nope, no pointing here. If say, "Where's Daddy?" He will look at Daddy but he doesn't point.

Matthew points at the sky when he hears airplanes or if we ask him where's the airplane. Other than that, he says Mama, Dada, and lots of gobbly gook! Meanwhile, my daughter could talk my ear off!

Katy doesn't point either. It's probably my fault, because I don't think I've really tried to teach her. She does clap and give high-fives...those are her new "tricks."

At her 1 yr check-up, the doctor asked if she was pointing and I told her she wasn't, as well as no words, and only a few steps before falling. One week later and it's like the floodgates opened. She's pointing, saying Mama and Dada and fully walking!
Don't worry, she'll get it

Owen points when asked, but inconsistently. I recently asked him where Hannah (our German Shepherd) was and he pointed right to her but then I asked him where our lab mix Bo was and he pretty much ignored me.

Ethan is not pointing, but if you ask him where daddy is...he looks. Same for mommy...or kitty...he recognizes them he's just too lazy to point lol! He's not waving bye-bye yet either.

No pointing here. Kellen will look at the object we name but not point. Everything is 'adada'...even me most days! He is not very verbal but he is a noisy little man, blowing raspberries, stringing together whatever consonants sound exciting, etc.

Lol. Charlotte says a lot too. She says Mama, Dada, baba, dog (which is daw), that (which is da), uh-oh, uh-oh Brown Dog, duck, no, backpack (from Dora it sounds like ba-pa though), baby, kitty (sounds like kih-yee). I think that is it. She points, but not when i ask where something is....though she will turn and look at it, but doesnt point at it. She points back at me when i am telling her no & point at her. She babbles something too, either she is making fun of me or telling me off, idk, but Samantha finds it hilarious and laughs when Charlotte does that. *rolls eyes*
