So the past few days Desi hasnt had her paci during the day only nap and bed time! shes doing very well without it. if she is fussy I just try to distract her with something else! I hope that she wont miss it when we are ready to take it away completely.

Yay!!

I tried giving it at bedtime only for a day or two but then yesterday I had to give it for a much needed afternoon nap and I should have given it in the car when he was sooo upset but I couldn't get to it. I'm going to try again giving it just at night but he may still need it for naps for a while, I think.

YAY!!!

We have also restricted Caleb's paci time to the crib only. We waited WAY too long with Grace and it was such a headache!

Ive been failing....yep, mommy failure...

She was only getting it at bedtime and in the van and that lasted for about 2 weeks. I was so proud! Then 1 day she was crying and looking everywhere for something and I said "You want your binky? and she walked and laid her head on my lap, so I gave it to her. The satisfaction I seen melted me. I went through pics, and I thought I took Kaitlyns right after her 1st birthday but the last picture I have with her sucking on it was at 15 months, so Im going to try again in a few weeks. Not sure if I wana go cold turkey or slow like this last time.

Same Heather. We're still fighting Ethan, so I have a feeling Avery is going to have to go cold turkey at the same time or E will steal her paci. I don't think Ethan will give them up willingly any time soon. I always just kinda thought he would grow out of the paci... boy was I wrong. I won't make the same mistake with Avery and the darn paci.

I think Jasmine was around 15 months or so. she was in daycare and the teacher told me she wasnt using it for nap. i was like what?! if she can do that in school she can do it at home. and then one day i seriously couldnt find it and she went to bed without it! she did awesome. a week later i found it in the glider's side pocket! i threw it out before she could even see it!

Grace was close to 3 years old when we FINALLY took her's away. But now she does steal Caleb's and tries to sneak it. Her cousin is the same age as her (3 1/2) and was up here for Caleb's birthday. She still has a paci and it just annoyed me. But of course Grace stole her's a few times too. Something about a 3 year old or older children sucking on a paci just annoys me. Grace has a friend at Gymnastics who is 5 and still has a paci. She's out on the gym floor with a paci in her mouth. I know it shouldn't bother me as much as it does but it drives me crazy.

ok, so after I posted this morning, I wanted to try to go with out it again. She needed it after her shots so I gave it to her, when we got home I took it away, and she went ALL DAY with out it. She fell asleep on me for nap so I just laid her down with out it, then for bed I just did normal routine and she went right to sleep. No fuss, no cry, just right to sleep. SO...IF she goes all night with out it, it's gone forever! She was actually clingy to her baby doll today so Im trying to replace binky with doll or blanket. We'll see how the night goes.

Apparently she is done. She slept all night with out it, and it's now 9:30 am and she still hasnt had it BUT she got up at 7am, which is not usual at all. So it made we wonder, give her back a paci and I get to sleep till 8 or give it up and have her up early...ha ha.

So, that means, she is done with it. I gathered them all up and put them in a bag. Im not tossing them just yet in case we have a relapse but I am so shocked.

Yay Desi!

We've been lucky with Owen. He's never been dependent on a paci. He used it a bit when he was a newborn but wanted nothing to do with it after the first couple of months.
