I decided to go cold turkey today and it was actually really easy...
For breakfast he had an egg, a piece of toast w/ peanut butter, and a sippy cup with half formula and half milk.
For lunch he had some Gerber turkey sticks and diced apples and water.
Then for dinner he had a meatball, some peas, and a bottle with half formula and half milk.
He also had a few snacks thrown it.
It doesn't seem like enough milk to me so maybe I should work on increasing it a little? Especially since he didn't quite finish the whole amount each time.
He seemed really happy about getting more solids tho...the boy loves to eat!

That's great! Today was our second bottle-free day. It's good to hear what other babies are eating because I've been thinking he hasn't been eating or drinking enough. I'm sure he's fine though. I don't know exactly how much milk he's been taking but it wasn't a lot the first two days and he drank more yesterday and today. I guess he just had to get used to it. I'm sure I'll talk to the pedi on Wed. to get a feel for how much they think he should be eating and drinking.

I'm just curious, has your doctor recommended a higher calorie diet because of his CF?

Yeah I think he will be fine once he gets used to it...I worry more that he has started trying to avoid veggies and only eat his fruits.
As for his CF, his pancreas functions normally so we don't have any problems with him not being able to gain weight.
He's actually asymptomatic and we probably wouldn't even know he had it if it wasn't for the newborn screening. We are extremely blessed and lucky.

That's great about the bottle things. Could you give him V8 juice so he get's his veggie intake? Can toddlers even have V8?

That's great that he's so healthy! I worry about the veggie thing too. He's really just started eating 3 meals these past few days since we switched to whole milk but now he doesn't seem to want any veggies.

I hope he continues to do well! I actually have no idea how much milk they are supposed to get. I gave it to makenna a couple times a week or so ago and she got nasty bms and a bleeding rash so she still just gets water (and breastmilk) and i'm fine with that for the time being.
