I know this is just paranoid new mommy concerns but when did you start whole milk? After your LO turned one? Before? If before, how many weeks before?

Jamie's down to a single BF in the early AM, and we will be cutting that out over the next week or so but he's 7 days away from his 12 month mark and I was wondering if I could start him on whole milk.

He hates formula unless he's really hungry but even then will only take a quarter of the glass. With breastmilk going away I want to be sure he's getting enough nourishment in that department.

I began trying at 11 months, she couldnt tolerate it, gave her nasty bms, vomiting, and diaper rash. So I stopped and tried it again last week SAME thing, she's been on soy milk since the first time, and will remain on soy unless her pedi (she goes today) says otherwise.

I probably won't even introduce Juliana to any milk but my own until she's around 14-15 months or so. I WFH so it's fairly easy for me to keep nursing, now that's she's old enough to delay until my meetings are over. But she's got a milk protein sensitivity and is also a nursing fiend. :-)

Vincent was on formula and I was going to wait until his appointment tomorrow to talk to the doctor before trying whole milk but I just decided to try it on a whim a couple of days ago. He hasn't had any formula in 2 days now and is doing great on whole milk. So we started 5 days before his first birthday.

Caleb started at 10 months. We still have some formula left in our stock pile (I got a good deal and bought like 6 cans at once) but we are going to donate it. Caleb is now 100% on whole milk.

Unless he has a milk sensitivity/allergy, there's certainly no harm in starting it a little before the 1st b-day. Avery gets about 6 oz of forumla a day & the rest is milk or water. I was comfortable with it because she is a good eater & will eat a wide variety of solid food. I think I would've kept her on formula longer if she had been a terrible eater.

I started switching Ethan over to whole milk right after 11 mos. So for 3 weeks we introduced a little more and a little more. He was completely on whole milk within 3 weeks by the time he turned 1. We ended up having to switch to lactose free because he's allergic but we've had problems since he was a baby and on formula.

Owen turns one on Friday. I started giving him whole milk last week. He wasn't crazy about it, but today he sucked down his sippy cup full. I'm going to use up the can of formula that I have left, but I'm not buying anymore!

I started with 25% and then worked up. They are on 50% and 75% until I finish the formula I have. They have done fine on whole milk.
