What do you think, scam by the formula companies or worth looking in to? I never heard of toddler formula when my DD turned 1. Maybe it wasn't out or maybe it just wasn't as well advertised. Caleb is a healthy 25lbs but somedays I wonder if he is getting enough nutrients. I have been toying with the idea of buying a can and just giving it to him in his bedtime sippy cup. Right now he is 100% on whole milk and sippy cups.

I personally wouldnt do it because of cost, my reason is Kaileigh is a great eater and eats tons of fruits and veggies, along with dairy, protein, etc... Now, I think it's great for kids that are not very good eaters as it would give them the nutrients they need.

I received a sample of the Enfagrow step 2 toddler 10-36 month. I tried it just because it was free, but I wouldnt buy it because I dont have a need for it.

I was thinking of doing it but I really don't think its necessary as long as they are eating a variety of foods...not even on a daily basis, but more on a weekly basis.

Waste of money I think they are just trying to make more money.

I agree with the others. If he were small and malnourished and impossibly picky, I'd say it's a good thing. But the truth is, if he's eating well, I think you have nothing to worry about.

I remember reading an article about the argument that toddler formula can contribute to obesity. Wasn't it just about 8 months ago when they came out with CHOCOLATE formula and there was a huge fight, they ended up discontinuing it and pulling from the shelves.

What does toddler formula have in it that milk, etc. doesn't? Like added vitamins and stuff?

I used it with Julia until she was like 20 months or something? I dont remember exactly. I am not sure why exactly I did except for maybe because I had done the same thing with the twins since the drs told me too with them being premature. They had just regular formula back then though, not toddler. Ty is breastfed so I wont be using it with him.

I compared the Similac Grow and Go to the Similac infant formula. It seems like it is the same thing except a few extra mg of vitamins here and there. It's also a little cheaper (not much) than infant formula.

I bet you could get the same result with a type of milk and doing the multivitamins & DHA in a dropper!

I had received a sample in the mail by Enfamil so I tried giving it to Kaylee and she would NOT drink it. I wanted to know why so I smelled it ::gag:: and tried it myself ::double gag:: OMG that stuff was horrible. Maybe I got a bad can or something, but I tossed it.
But back to they main question, No I wouldn't buy it.

I asked my doctor about it at Caleb's 1 year check-up. He basically said what you ladies have said...that it was developed for children who needed to gain weight...that now it is marketed to all toddlers...that it's waste of money unless your toddler is underweight.

I find myself eating my words, lol! Milk gave Leah horrible constipation...horrible! TMI, but I had to use a qtip and lube to help extract poop from Leah's butt...I know...gross, but poor baby was in so much pain! I tried the toddler formula, and she was much happier! We'll revisit milk in a bit, and I plan on asking her pedi what else I could try.

Let me know what your pedi said...I also switched Arie to formula, but I'm still giving her infant formula...I wasn't sure about the toddler kind.
