O-kay. About 2-3 weeks ago I quickly developed some blisters, a line of about 4 on my stomach and a small patch of them next to my spine. They itches a lot. About two weeks later they felt better and now don't itch but can still see them slowly fading.
Now I have noticed Lauren had one on her scalp after getting a bath last night. Today she had about 4 more on her scalp, one is quite large, some tiny ones on her neck in the back, and a single larger one in the middle of her tummy. She has been pretty needy lately, but does not seem to be itchy at all.....
Could it be chicken pox? I had thought maybe I had gotten spider bites. I had chicken pox when I was a kid......just don't know. I honestly have not seen it since I had it like age 7 or something.
Thanks.
Shari

I think if it were chicken pox you would have a lot more than what it sounds like.

Yes, that is what I think too. She has a few more today....uh. I also think we are battling thrush, she has a diaper rash but it is contained to just one area, right over the pubic bone.... We have her 1 yr on Thursday.....

That is so strange. I'm not sure what they could be. Hopefully you get answers!

It sounds like it could be shingles. It's caused by the same virus as chicken pox. I'm not sure if you have any of the other symptoms, but one of the identifying symptoms is blisters in a line/strip/band. I hope it's something else!

I was thinking shingles also, although I really hope its not. I'd call the dr tomorrow and ask if the recommend you bring her in sooner than Thursday.
Hope you get some answers soon!

Thanks guys. I did have blisters in a line. Uh.
Took her to urgent care to an idiot dr. It was soooo frustrating! To sum it up they didn't know what it is from. But while waiting at the office more and more blisters appeared. The doc didn't seem impressed. She gave us cortisone. Which I don't know how great that will be since most are in her scalp. Just changed her diaper and a new blister was there. More on her scalp and some scattered on her body. I don't know if they are bothering her or not. Is pretty fussy, which makes them worse, the heat.
I will look up bedbugs.....thanks for caring!!
OH, yes we co sleep

you could have gotten shingles and than given the baby chicken pox
there is a contagious stage that shingles can be transferred as chicken pox to someone whos never had it before
my mother in law just contracted shingles, in her eye!
but its usually really painful

Second doctor thinks it is hand, foot, mouth disease, or less likely but possibly, chicken pox. We've got benadryl on board now. Poor thing had a hard time getting to sleep and I hope she will stay asleep for a few hours!
Oh, to those who know more about either of these things: her blisters end up, well mine did to, with a dark dot in the middle. Does that sound familiar?

Late update:
3rd doctor confirmed chicken pox. I guess it is quite rare now-a-days. I will need to get a copy of the paperwork for school later. What if I had not brought her in to the doctor to get a comfirmation? The schools would not take my word for it I am told. That is dumb.

I'm glad that you got that figured out. With all the vaccines nowadays most doctors don't even see cases of certain illnesses. The fact that more and more are appearing and that they are blistery makes it likely to be chicken pox. Usually they will dry up in a few days and then slowly fade. May not be as itchy in babies as in older children or adults. And yes, if you had shingles then you would have infected her with the chicken pox.
We thought my nephew had it a few weeks ago, but it turns out that it was an allergic reaction to a caterpillar...imagine that. The rash looked just like the chicken pox and was itchy too, but went away in about 3 days. My sister had a hard time getting a diagnosis with that too.
I guess you'll know for sure when your other dd gets it, unless she's been vaccinated.
Hope Lauren feels better soon!!!
