Today is all about when your mom or dad (or other parent) gave you "the talk".

Then...at what age will you plan on having "the talk" with your children?

I'm not sure they ever had the talk with me. One day when I was like 13, my mom was like "you know what a period is right?" and everything else I figured out from friends and hands on experience......scary, right?

Oh and I don't think I will sit down and talk about everything at once with Emily. Maybe more like a gradual over time talk.

Well my mom explained in minimal detail when I started my cycle...at 11...I learned alot from friends and experience too.

OMG! I don't even want to think about that! I know I have to, but ugh..they can just stay babies forever!!!!!!!

My parents never gave me the talk.

I think the only thing that could even come close to "the talk" with my dad was when I was 19 y /o and he was driving me to the airport so I could go visit my fiance who was in the Air Force stationed in FL, and he told me "now dont get pregnant" "ooookkk dad!"

My parents never gave me the talk either. Still to this day its like some weird taboo subject. My hope is that I will just be up front and honest with my girls. Explain to them in whatever details are age appropriate at the time.

I got the main sex talk when I was 10 years old because I started my period. I was almost 11, but she hadnt said anything to me before that. She had some stupid books and papers with pictures and it really haunted me. I had no idea what was going on.

I will probably start off slow talking to Kaitlyn around age 10/11. I want her to know about AF before she gets it because that really scared me to start bleeding and having no idea what was happening. I actually thought I was dieing (I know..ha ha). Then I will probably give the sex talk around 13. Not sure?. I just know at almost 11 talking about af and sex at the same time was overwhelming for me.

^^^ yeah that was scary for me too..I had no idea what was going on! haha..then my mom bought me these HUGE butt pads! I thought I was gonna die,due to embarrassment from wearing those huge things!

I just grew up knowing what periods were. It was just common knowledge to me. My bff was 2 years older than me, and I learned a lot from her too in just everyday talk.

I never had a "talk" with my twins either. It wasnt necessary. We just bring our children up to know what life is and what happens I guess. Not taboo here and just addressed as needed, no big deal.

We learned about the reproductive system in 5th grade, and I got my period around 6th grade...so not sure when I had "The talk" with my mom but I think it was more a gradual thing. I think I knew about sex before that...like not the actual dynamics, but from watching tv I knew that people would get all hot and heavy against each other (again, didn't know what was going on "down below") but I think I was surprised that everyone does it LOL. Initially I probably just thought it was illicit behavior.
