I was working this Saturday and got a frantic phone call from my husband. He said my daughter was playing with her chair (its small child size...) and fell on it..and split her nose in the middle underneath. She bled for over 20 minutes and screamed. He took her to the ER and I couldn't meet him there utnil nearly 45 minutes later because I am the only banker working when I fill in for that branch on Saturdays. I flew there and thank goodness no fracture and it didn't slice through all the way through the cartilege. Should heal within 5-7 days and leave no visible scar but man was I terrified.

I put some pics up on my facebook, I didn't put the up close shot that actually shows just how parted/cut it is because it makes even me queasy to look at it, but it was so scary. We've babied her all day since and she's lapping up the attention. I am just so glad that it isn't anything serious because with the amount of blood that was left here to clean up...its surprising that its so superficial. They didn't have to glue it or anything which is good. But she wasn't too happy having it cleaned.

So that was an interesting part to our day. We ended up looking at 5 houses this afternoon still because she was in a plenty fine mood after the ER trip, and found two possibilities, think we are going to make an offer on one. I'm so ready to be out of this condo where the kids can play in a yard and be kids again and not be rambunctious in the house and get hurt like what happened today. *Sigh* THESE are the times of parenting I most hate.....my babies getting hurt!!!

Aww! I'm glad she's okay. It's so scary to get those calls! I don't know if your dh is like mine but, whenever one of our LO's get hurt, he really goes to extremes with his tone of voice and reaction. I am so appreciative that he cares so much and that he empathizes but sometimes he makes the situation worse for me because I think the trauma is greater than it actually is...and my LO's tend to panic more too! Your situation with your dd really must have been scary though with all that blood. Thankfully it sounds like she will heal fairly quickly...

Ouch! Sorry to hear about her fall! I hope she heals up quickly!

BTW, looking at your siggy and it's crazy to see how much all your babies have grown this past year.

Poor baby! I broke my nose when I was 12 and I remember feeling more numb than anything when it happened. There was a lot of blood, which made it scary, but I remember being soaked in blood and thinking "hey, this isn't that bad." Hopefully it wasn't too painful for your princess, although it was no doubt traumatic for everyone.
