Does anyone have one and have it set up as a barrier in front of your tv/furniture/stairs/etc? I'm talking about the superyard play yard or something like that. I think I need one to go across our entertainment center and dvd shelves, but I'm wondering how that would actually work. It seems like the ends wouldn't be able to connect to anything, so how would it actually stay up if he were to pull on it? I just can't picture it for some reason.

Check out Heather's DITL, she has one in a picture!
I do have one..but I took down my DITL pics already. I use a bulge cord to secure the gate. I'll take pics for you later today and post them. I also have it around my treadmill.
We have one. Best investment ever. . Once you saw the gate in your house I'm sure you could figure something out, they are really versatile. I wasn't sure how we would secure it, but it worked out great once I could see it.
We have one and I'll put a pic of it at the bottom of my post. We couldnt live without it in our family room. Keeps him contained and safe away from TV, fireplace, etc. The best thing ever!!! We actually bought 2 sets of gate systems for like $150.00 at Babies R Us and well worth the money for our home. Fact is, I will probably get some more for other areas of our house.

OK, here is ours. I actually have 3 of them 2 are broken up and paced around objects in our house and the other one is stored in our closet. We take it with us when we travel to the Inlaws house in Maine or anywhere that we know isn't baby proof. I was really lucky that my SIL gave me hers when she was done with it and the second one I found at a consignment sale so I only had to pay for one of them.
This is 3 sections of the gate positioned around our TV:
We have two sections of the gate secured to the TV stand with bungee cords. If you look at the brown wooden part of the stand you can see the red bungee cord:
Another view from the outside of the gate. The cord is tight. G can't even move it.
Here is another section around our treadmill
Again, we used a bungee cord to secure it to the treadmill. You can see the little black cord in this pic:
When G was younger we used to just push something up against the end of the gate. At one time her play kitchen (it's wooden and heavy) was next to the TV we had a fourth section on the gate that was bent and placed behind the kitchen making it secure. There are really tons of ways to secure the gate. I'm sure you'll be able to figure out something.

It's the one by Summer infant, I also have the extender panels. Right now we just have it bent in certain places where it's stable, but we were going to get the little hooks from Lowes and make a little latch in the wall where we usually have it if she ever figures it out.
